On 5 May 2015, Colleges were invited to join 2 GTU as its Research Partners in the area of Smart Cies Development . 12 Colleges have started working with the GTU Graduate School of Smart Cies Development (GSSCD) as its Research Partners. Similarly GTU seeks Research Partners in the broad areas of (i) High Speed Transportaon Systems on land, in inland waterways and along the coast-line and (ii) Cyber Security. Each of these areas of importance in a broad range of engineering applicaons. Thus Cyber Security is a required field of study for those studying Computer Engineering and IT. But it is of equal importance in mobile compung (a field of EC). Power systems are computer-controlled and the security of the control systems is of great importance for power systems. The Internet of Things has pushed the field of cyber security into trouble-free working of every home, office and factory. The control of not only air-cra navigaon systems but also of all transport systems, whether on land or on sea, has also been computerised and is suscepble to cyber aacks. The Colleges are invited to write to GTU expressing their interest in joining GTU as its Research Partner for any of the two fields menoned above. It is expected that aer a College becomes GTU's Research Partner, within a couple of years, with the help of GTU and through the study and research by its students and Faculty Members, it will become known as the Resource Center for the field.
