homework, projects, quizzes, and tests.

Challenge Reading   

Storytown:Anthology comprised of various genres of literature. Each week the students will be

reading a selection and completing various activities to support the skills and strategies introduced throughout the themes.

 Literacy Circles:

The students will chose a piece of literature from the class challenge library to read and meet with their peers on a weekly basis. Each week the students will choose a literacy

task to prepare and share with their group. A culminating independent activity will accompany each piece of literature.

 Grades:

 Students grades will be based on the following categories: 

Comprehension 25% Homework 10% IRP 10% (beginning 2nd MP)Skills 25% Projects 10% Vocabulary 20%

Homework

• Reading– Word Wisdom approximately 2 weeks to

complete unit review – Finishing up classwork– IRP– Prep work for projects

• Geography– Skills-based– Prep work for projects

• Combination of independent and group

• Majority will be completed in school – Some prep work may need to completed at

home– Project is due and all requirements have not

been completed in school

updates occur

• Bonus Points– Students will have opportunities to earn bonus

points via test questions or an additional activity to be completed with a project
