Holiday Weekends, such as the 4th of July, are some of our busiest times of the year. We would like to remind all of our Dry Storage customers of the Pick Up and Storage rules from our Dry Storage Rules & Regulations:
Antennas, outdrives, outboards, outriggers, tops & Biminis must be LOWERED.
Trim tabs must be UP.
Line and fenders must be secured inside the boat before boat returns to building.
Battery switches must be in the OFF position or disconnected while stored in dry stack & no trickle chargers allowed.
Drain plugs must be in and tight.
Reminder: Gas expands in heat; please do not fill gas tanks up all the way. Tanks will overflow and you are responsible for damage done to other boats.
Beach Marine will not be responsible for damage done to step hulls.
Beach Marine assumes no responsibility for damages when rules are not followed. The lifting of a boat in and out of the water by forklift does cause wear and tear.

Dock Notes: Dirty bottom? When is the last time you’ve cleaned your
bottom? Not that bottom… the bottom of your boat! With the summer already in full effect
the water temperatures are in the high 70’s and low 80’s already in our basin and inshore
waters. This means only one thing: growth, growth, and more growth. This time of year the
underwater life is rapidly expanding mussels’ barnacles and the lovely green slime that coats
the bottoms of our beautiful investments. It is time to start lining up divers to periodically
keep these unsightly, performance robbing, damaging creatures at bay. Did you know that on an
infested boat it could rob you of almost 1.5 mpg in fuel burn? If you are noticing the fuel burn on
your boat is steadily increasing and can’t remember the last time you had your bottom
scrapped clean then it’s most likely a good sign to get this problem fixed. We have crews that
come through the marina on periodic schedules to help ensure our boaters investments are
performing like they should. If you would like more information on how to be put on the schedule
contact Debra in the service department or me here at the Fuel dock and we will get you headed
in the right direction. Thanks and above all get out and enjoy the water, its definitely warm.
We are most definitely in the boating season! Beach Marine Boat Sales has added 50 new members to the Beach Marine family with many of them staying right here. If you have considered a new boat for your family, now is the time. We have a great selection of new and used boats for just about every purpose on the water. Make sure you ask for Bob, Chris, David, or Justin and we will be happy to help you find your dream boat!
Boat of the Month: 2014 Scout 221 Winyah Bay Our 221 Winyah Bay combines the very best inshore and near‐shore angling with the same durability as the other bay boats in a more tournament‐styled fishing boat package. Thanks to its Yamaha power, remarkable 12” draft and ability to perform remarkably well in rough water; this center console provides tremendous fishability. Features include a low‐profile design, ample casting space via a fore and aft raised casting deck, six lockable rod storage compartments and three vertical rod racks. Very nicely equipped for just $49,999!!
Trailers! Trailers! Everywhere! Trailers need TLC! Trailers are an expensive thing to purchase and repair, constantly dipped in and out of salt/brackish water here in Jacksonville. It can be a job on its own just to wash and rinse down all of the nooks and crannies to get the salt washed off. I had a customer take his boat to the Keys for his annual vacation and the trip down was uneventful…but the trip home was another story; 2 tire blowouts made for a long stressful drive!
Many of you drop off your trailer for storage when you enter the dry stack, for the first time, and don’t see it again until 2, 3, 4 years later when you need to use it for a road trip. Trailers need regular upkeep to remain in trailer-able condition. Maybe come down a few weeks in advance of that road trip and check the tires, breaks and lights to make sure you aren’t setting yourself up for that “long stressful drive”.
