The Cambridge English: Advanced exam has been revised and updated to reflect new research into language learning and assessment . This new edition will start being used for exam sessions in January 2015 .

The changes 1 . Four papers instead of five: Reading and Use of English are now presented in a single paper for a combined evaluation of language knowledge and Reading skills.

Tasks in the current papers have been retained, revised, and updated.

2 . 45 minutes shorter, but with the same language and skills coverage as the current exam.

3 . New tasks and testing focuses for Reading and Use of English, Writing and Speaking papers .
