Founded in 1942, Shree Coimbatore Gujarati Samaj is celebrating 75 years of its glorious

presence. The Samaj has an outstanding track of upholding SERVICE as its motto while

maintaining highest ideals of achieving its prime objects of promoting Arts, Literature,

Culture, Education and Charity through following activities:

Samaj has founded Shree Baldevdas Kikani Vidhyamandir High School in 1950 and now

caters to around 2850 students both under State Board, Matriculation & CBSE standards,

maintaining very high standards and reputation.

It runs a FREE Public Dispensary since last 40 years and has added a Multi Speciality

Medical Centre catering to needs of wide range of patients from the General Public.

Organises Cultural events apart from Celebrating traditional NAVARATRI & other

festivals also to promote social and motivational programmes by eminent artistes &

speakers.

Has rendered yeomen service to the downtrodden and needy persons by providing

assistance in field of Education, Medical, Rentals and Ration.

Has always been in forefront to render timely aid – both in cash and kind- during all

unforeseen calamities – Natural and otherwise- throughout the Country.

The Samaj also founded GUJARATI MUTUAL WELFARE SOCIETY out of surplus funds

collected from Reception Committee members during its Golden Jubilee Celebrations( in

1991), to provide hassle free financial support to our Members at very attractive interest,

for Commercial and domestic needs. Today this Society has grown to exceed a turnover

of over Rs 3 Crores – with ZERO DEFAULT from borrowers, till date.

All multi-dimensional activities are carried out through our building, known as “Gujarati

Samaj Bhavan”, located in the heart of the City. Some important facilities available

include: Community Hall ( including elaborate Dining Hall & well equipped kitchen) A/C

and Non-A/C Rooms and Dormitories, A/C and Non-A/C Conference Halls, Free

Library/Reading Room, and an Open Air Auditorium on the Terrace. The said facilities are

available both to members and general public at very affordable tariff and as such are

well-utilised.

During the year long Platinum Jubilee Celebrations, the Samaj has organized a variety of

events – Cultural, Sports, Artistic and Literary – almost every month, which are enjoyed

by members of Samaj and General public of Coimbatore and Tamil Nadu.

The Samaj has an envious legacy of committed service towards its under-privileged and

needy members and the Society at large and shall constantly endeavour to scale higher

benchmarks, to be in the fore-front amongst all Social Organisations of India and secure a

place of pride in the service map of our Country.
