Plastic and glass bottles for mineral water

Solving this problem would need serious survey:

• PET bottles become one of the symbols of polluting our environmental.

• Consumers throw used PET bottle into the bin.

• It is moved into dump or burned.

• Glass bottle is filled and used again.

Shopping habits in the Czech Republic till the middle of 90‘s

Reasons of packing mineral water into plastic bottles:

• Pressure from the side of Hypermarkets.

• They need save place• Don‘t want to care about the ‘‘deposit

and refund glass bottle systém‘‘• Employ more people and store empty

bottles.

• Advantages of glass bottle:

• Can be used many times• Holds the quality of

mineral water for a long time

• Holds cold temperature for a longer period of time

• Better design

• Disadvantages of glass bottle:

• It is heavier and it takes more place in the store and car if transported

• Easy to crash miss the screwing top

• Glass bottle can be used almost 75 times.

• Plastic bottle can be used only once or more only in the household.

PET bottle is “breathing“ it means that air and light can go through it.

Everybody knows that the glass holds the cold or warm temperature for longer time than plastic.

Restaurants require good design of bottle, only quality of the products sells the product itself.

I can not imagine plastic bottle in the glass window of refrigerator in better restaurant.

Disadvantage for the glass bottle:

• Less quantity can be:• Transported by car• Stored in the store• Glass bottle is once opened

• The glass bottle requires special “carry box“

• Use glass bottle in our country is less harmful

• Czech government would make a law, which would force DEPOSIT AND REFUND systém of PET bottles.

• Life of bottle:• producer-retailer-

customer-retailer-producer

• One of the way is the difference in prices of glass and PET packing would be so high, that customer would require glass packing.

• The producers would propably return to the glass bottles.
