Carolina Sandstone plaster comes ready to apply in two forms, trowel and a roller grade.

The latter can be sprayed and smoothed, also when combined with Aquaglass crackle undercoat

create aged weathered stone. The texture can be smoothed easily and can simulate Marmorino for interior

décor.

The two stone finishes below compliment one another like twins but each with its own distinct character.

Intonachino is an exterior/interior yet breathable opaque natural lime based coating.

Texturstone is more suited for interior decorative stone and is acrylic based allowing tape removal when

fully dry.

TEXTURLINE PAINT YOU CAN FEEL

Texturstone that has a few attributes that add to its abilities

to create stone in ways that allow artistic impression to run

loose. Texturstone allows glazes to soak in enough to obtain

realistic stone looks.

It flows so it can be brushed more easily on moldings. When

smoothing it can be applied very smooth or very textured as

required. It has 2 grades x fine and fine to allow all types of

stone to be created with simple tools. 24kg and 6 kg sizes.

Visualize the sandstone bluffs of Carolina, sculptured and

pitted by coastal winds, in some areas protected and less ex-

posed, the feel and appearance has been transformed into a

smooth honed stone by rain and time.

Carolina can produce effects like this on walls, the way it’s ap-

plied will reflect the look you desire.

Intonachino lime plaster imported from Italy, the dream ma-

terial for all structural finishes; it will go on any surface and

transform the aspect into stone. The ease of application is

only surpassed by its durability and easy maintenance. Turn

that old fireplace into a focal point of original beauty, add a

new identity to alcoves and moldings and make entrance

hallway or walls look like something out of a 16th century

European castle. The product is at home on exteriors as well

as interiors and has no VOC or toxic chemicals being a natu-

ral product. It has 4 grades: x fine - fine - medium - coarse.

Packaging is in 24kg pails and can be purchased in 4 kg sizes

The two finishes above & below though a slight step below in skill level of Venetiano, they are none the less of the highest standard. The experience required to apply them is well within the abilities of anybody who has prepared wall for painting with spackle or drywall compound. The tools required are the same and execution is fast and easy by virtue of the product , that allows wet to wet application, with no mess ups. The material dries fast and using a cross hatch method there are no overlap lines on the finished décor.

Spatulato is lovely sister to burnished Venetian plaster,

it is very similar application, however for Spatulato the

burnishing and polishing is replaced with a topcoat of

tinted Texturtop wax.

This system is by far the easiest and quickest method to

produce an acrylic venetian plaster as its self polishing

tinted waxing system tones and shines all in one appli-

cation.

Venetiano lime base coating, recreates plaster used in

Venice to compliment luxurious marbles that adorned

the walls in the Palaces of the Doges. It has endured

through time to be today’s unrivaled fashion leader in

wall finishes. The feel of its smooth tactile, dare we say

sensual surface, with its dimensional integrated colour,

oozes luxury and quality. Prized by those that have a

wall of this artistic creation, desired by those who don’t,

it fits every 21st Century modern decorating scheme.

To complete this trio Acrylic Stucco Antico the most

popular polished plaster we ever introduced to the north

American market. Easy to apply, versatile in every way

and exhibits all the quality of a lime based plaster with-

out all the hype.

Texturline has sold enough of this product to coat a wall

wrapped around the earth many times. Why choose it

over the completion, as Paul Shivkumar of Artifex Studio

once put it “It has never failed me.”

That speaks for itself as his sample does>>>>>>>>

Texturline polished plasters

Venetiano lime based polished plaster applied in the traditional way, that is with trowels and Japan spatu-las, in the hands of an expert, is breathtaking. That does not mean the average painter cannot complete this finish to a high standard, with a little practice and learning from one of our on line teaching tools, good results will always be attained. Texturline offers training North America and Europe so that you can hone the skills required to become a qualified tradesperson.

Marmorino Carrara white marble plaster comes in two grades fine and coarse to allow variations. Also there are additives available to enhance the final result, Coccio pesto (terra cotta), Salt and pepper sand (black and grey), white Carrara marble. Polishing will hone the finish to a sheen. Tadelakt comes in a dry form and required the addition of water, the working time is about a day. It can be colored with pigment and polished to a high sheen.

Marmorino was generally white to imitate the stone of Istria, which was most often used in Venetian construction, but was occasionally decorated with frescoes to imitate the marble, which Venetian merchants brought home from their voyages to the Orient. In this period of the Republic of Venice, merchants felt obliged to return home bearing pre-cious, exotic marble as a tribute to the beauty of their own cities

Marmorino is well known as a classic Venetian plas-ter. However, its origins are much older, dating to ancient Roman times. We can see evidence of it to-day in the villas of Pompeii and in various Roman structures. In addition, it was written about in Vitru-vius's “De Architectura”, a 1st Century B.C. history of Rome. Marmorino was rediscovered centuries later after the discovery of Vitruvius's ancient trea-tise in the 15th century. This „new‟ plaster con-formed well to the classical ideal that had recently became fashionable in the 15th century Venetian la-goon area.

Enjoying a recent surge of popularity in the archi-tectural and design communities, Tadelakt, for cen-turies, has been appreciated for its durability and aesthetically pleasing exotic appearance. Tadelakt may be used in wet areas such as showers and spas, as well as on floors and countertops. Originating in Marrakesh in Morocco this antique finish embel-lishes the walls of villas and palaces there. The unique combination of sand, clay and Hydraulic lime has been taken by the chemists in Italy dupli-cating the original formula.

Texturline Imported polished plasters

Unlike the marble it has a single soft color with small shadings. A natural material, it is made of lime and ground marble. Hardness and resistance are characteristic to Marmorino, even in moist environments like a bathroom. Marmorino is highly appreciated for its aesthetic effect, unique when properly lighted. It is used in sophisticated environments such as reception areas, offices, and condos. .

The reason Texturline is a leader in structural texture is shown by 20 years of successful in-stallations worldwide. Chosen as a backdrop for many architects reception areas, as a pro-file for many high tech companies corporate head quarters and the medium used in décor for films from „James Bond‟ to „Battleship Galactica‟ to name but two. Nothing says “we are unique” more than a custom texture, that is unique to an individual or company, a blend of skill and artistry by professionals in the paint trade.

Structural texture finishes bring a rich embellish-

ment to any surface adding deep lustrous reflec-

tive tones that give a unique character impossi-

ble to achieve with any other system.

There are three components, a structuring base,

oxide natural pigments and fast drying waxes.

This allows profiled textures from base to finish

in one day.

Special effects metallic textures are easily done

with Texturline using acrylic Venetian plaster as

a base coat with iridescent wax.

The shimmering reflectivity changes colour by

refracting light giving the illusion of dimension

and depth to a flat surface.

The world of faux is now truly your oyster

bringing opalescence to any surface.

Metallic effects are a series of mica pigmented

waxes that do not tarnish or fade. By combining

these with Venetian acrylic base a fast metallic

structure over any surface can be created.

Gold, copper, silver, bronze, pewter and many

other metals can be created to make any ordi-

nary surface extraordinary.

Structural textures by Texturline the paint you can feel

Metals have always been a luxury that is an expensive add on to any surface, with Textur-line it is possible to metalize and create patinas with a realistic touch. We have created prod-ucts that simulate metal so effectively that unless you saw it applied you would not know it from the real thing. Application require very little training or special tools and amazingly it dries very fast allow-ing many coats and patinas in a one day application.

Scumble is an English term that means to apply transpar-

ent colour over an opaque base tone. Used extensively by

skilled tradespersons to create faux marble and

woodgrain.

Texturline has a slow drying product. This version will

allow blending and toning for positive application and

fast recoating.

Supplied as a clear medium and dries to a satin sheen

and coloring can be done using universal colorants.

Stonewash Powder Pigments are the ultimate system to cre-

ate those intricate details or to color-wash plaster quickly,

with just a hint of color.

Definitely the most effective way to create visual texture

over plasters: 14 Colors plus black and white

providing an wide color pallet, also create pastel tones us-

ing a simple blend of 50/50 color with white. Unlimited col-

ors can be made by blending any of the colors .

Water based glazes, extender and washes

Texturline produced two glazes: Glaze extender low VOC

flat washable glaze that has a one hour wet edge for

seamless finishing.

Basic glaze is the second this version shares its use with

the scumble below making this version a duplex as it al-

lows paint and colorant to be mixed in it and has a satin

sheen.

The flat glaze now shares that method of coloration.

Texturline has recently made changes to it‟s glaze lineup to fall in line with EU and US state regulations, by creating products that have a low impact on ozone and global warming. We as a company have voluntarily illuminated all products from our range that exceed this limit. At the same time we have followed EPA rulings relative to any ingredients discovered to be toxic or deemed a health danger to humans by illuminating them from our products. We will continue to monitor and follow any updates as they are published and react accordingly, offering the best products available today on both continents.

We are producing a DVD series on washes, glazes and scumble, as we feel due to the reduction in the use of propylene glycol USP, a foodstuff ingredient that we use to extend the open time of acrylic paints, it‟s about time. We are of the opinion that product knowledge is essential to successful applications in these changing times. We will show how to take the fear out of washes drying and creating lap lines in a zero voc method. Glazing made easy coupled with some realistic marble and graining methods.

of varnish is not applied over it.

Specialty Paints and coatings

Moiré is the latest creation from Texturline and proba-

bly one of the most sophisticated finishes we have ever

launched. It as two distinct aspects, the first an opales-

Texturline Satin Varnish is an acrylic varnish suitable

for coating furniture as well as all surfaces that require a

durable finish.

When applied over plaster it can be burnished to a

higher sheen as well as being able to be tinted with uni-

versal colorant.

The use of mica powders will produce a translucent

shimmering topcoat over certain other Texturline prod-

ucts.

Traditional Limewash is a North American take on the

coating used to protect building in Europe for at least

2000 years. Though is forms a decorative coating over

many surfaces, it does not age like acrylic paints. It does

not peel as it is a mineral based material, water can

penetrate it and over time will oxidize the lime turning

it into limestone. Part of its charm is the gradual aging

of the surface causing the lime to blush adding the de-

sirable polychromatic component.

Specialty Paints and coatings

Zero Gloss dead flat varnish describes this product to a

tee. It is non reflective so therefore ideal for studio and

cinema requirements. It does not change the colour of

the paint or plaster its applied over. It is washable with

good resistance forming a flexible film that can be rolled

for artwork.

It is not recommended for exterior protection of murals

as they require at least two weeks curing to prevent

blushing.

Texturline offers a full compliment of primers that when coupled with our product range help in the easy fast application making a solid bond to most substrates. Sharktooth primer is a keyed coating that reduces the application time and will bond our products to glossy surfaces. Its high opacity will cover any colour in one coat prior to application of our plasters. Texprime is a drywall sealer that has the same keyed texture to bond easily many plas-ters efficiently.

Texturline lime-proof primer is an exterior primer to go over existing stucco so that it can be cor-rectly coated with limewash without risk of delaminating. It has the ability to bond to any surface at the same time giving a correct mechanical bond for the lime allowing it to perform and age correctly.

Marmorino is well known as a classic venetian plaster; however, its origins are much older,

dating to ancient Roman times. We can see evidence of it today in the villas of Pompei and in

various Roman structures. In addition, it was also written about in Vitruvius's "De Architec-

tura", a 1st Century B.C. history of Rome. Marmorino was rediscovered centuries later after

the discovery of Vitruvius's ancient treatise in the 15th century. This 'new' plaster conformed

well to the aesthetic requirements dictated by the classical ideal that in the 15th century had

recently become fashionable in the Venetian lagoon area.

The first record of work being done with Marmorino is a building contract with the nuns of

Santa Chiara of Murano in 1473. In this document, it is written that before the Marmorino

could be applied, the wall had to be prepared with a mortar made of lime and "coccio pe-

sto" (ground terra cotta). This "coccio pesto" was then excavated from tailings of bricks or re-

cycled from old roof tiles.

At this point, to better understand the popularity of Marmorino in Venetian life two facts need

to be considered. The first is that in a city that extends over water, the transport of sand for

making plaster and the disposal of tailings was, and still is, a huge problem. So, the use of

Marmorino was successful not only because the substrate was prepared using terra cotta

scraps, but also the finish, Marmorino, was made with leftover stone and marble, which were

in great abundance at that time. These ground discards were mixed with lime to create Mar-

morino. Besides, Marmorino and substrates made of "coccio pesto" resisted the ambient damp-

ness of the lagoon better than almost any other plaster. The first because it is extremely breath-

able by virtue of the kind of lime used (the only lime which sets on exposure to air after loos-

ing excess water) and the second, because it contains terracotta which when added to lime

makes the mixture hydraulic, that is, it's effective even in very damp conditions (because it

contains silica and aluminum, bases of modern cement and hydraulic lime preparations). The

second consideration is that an aesthetically pleasing result could be achieved in an era domi-

nated by the return of a classical Greco-Roman style allowing less weight to be transmitted to

the foundation when compared to the habit of covering facades with slabs of stone.

Usually, Marmorino was white to imitate the stone of Istria, which was most often used in Ve-

netian construction, but was occasionally decorated with frescoes to imitate the marble, which

Venetian merchants brought home from their voyages to the Orient. (In this fascinating period

of the Republic of Venice, merchants felt obliged to return home bearing precious, exotic mar-

ble as a tribute to the beauty of their own city.)

Marmorino maintained its prestige for centuries until the end of the 1800’s when interest in it

faded and was considered only an economical solution to the use of marble. Only at the end of

the 1970’s, thanks in part to the architect, Carlo Scarpa’s use of Marmorino, did this finishing

technique return to the interest of the best modern architects.

For about 10 years, industries were also interested in Marmorino which was only by produced

by artisans. Today, however, ready-to-use Marmorino can be found, often with glue added to

allow them to be applied on non-traditional surfaces such as drywall or wood paneling.

How to apply Marmorino Classic:

Before application: Protection of the work area: Masking tape and protective material over the baseboards and around windows and doors. Don‟t apply in temperatures below 5°C (41°F). Remember to have a strong light parallel to the wall and situated on only one of the two sides of the wall you are working on (usually on the same side other sources of light come from such as the windows). In this way the shadow of the trowel allows you to see the actual state of the finish. The first coat applied can be either white or colored plaster. The first coat is applied with a metal trowel using visible strokes, which will be the underlying base for the final coats. This coat is applied thickly, using about 1lb of material per square foot. The aim in laying the first coat is to obtain a thick, absorbent layer on which to spread the successive coats. When the first coat has completely dried, normally by the next day, the second coat is carefully applied with a large metal trowel using 12 ozs per square foot. Always keep in mind that the aim of this coat is to lay the smoothest and most uniform surface possible, being careful to avoid creating shiny areas. Since shiny areas can cause problems when applying the successive coat, it is necessary to work with a light touch, without pressing too hard; maintain a 40° angle with the blade of the trowel. If application of a single second coat does not give you a smooth, even surface, you should apply another coat immediately before the second coat dries. We suggest ap-plying this additional second coat especially when the desired finish is to have little texture or when you want to achieve a superior, quality job. While you can apply the final coat as soon as the second coat begins to dry, most people prefer to wait for the second coat to dry completely because of the risk of peeling. Apply the last coat in a thin layer to small areas (max. 10 square ft.) with a large, or better yet, medium-sized metal trowel. Normally, you should start high on the wall (on either the right- preferred by the left handed- or the left side –preferred by the right-handed- of the wall). When you are swiping on one trowel application after another, the trowel swipes should be in a different direction than the previous one each time, so that you obtain a harmonious design. At the beginning of each swipe, the trowel should be at a 30-35° angle to the wall moving toward the plaster you have already laid. As you continue the swiping movement, you immediately remove excess material by changing the angle of the trowel to 40-45° while moving toward the area you have previous laid. In this way you keep the newly-laid plaster thin enough over the previous applications while shining the area of contact between the newly-laid plaster and the area you have already polished. Since the material on your spatula dries out over time, occasionally you will need to scrape the thickened material off, disposing of it, and replacing it with fresh plaster. To achieve seamless application when moving from one section to the other you need to proceed both hori-zontally and vertically. Normally, the application should continue until the wall is completely finished. If the wall is large, you will need more than one person to apply the finish; otherwise, you risk leaving unsightly overlapping marks. With this coat, proceed to the final polishing, going over the surface repeatedly with a clean metal trowel moved in different directions. Be sure the edges of the trowel blade are always smooth by using P240-360 sand-paper. If 3 people are working, it‟s best that 2 people apply the material with a quick polishing and the 3rd person only polish. Before it dries, finish by buffing it with a soft fabric cloth. Important note: While applying the third coat, but especially during the polishing phase, be careful to move the trowel with the back of the trowel directly following in the path of the front of the trowel. That is, the movement of the trowel MUST NOT be perpendicular to the trowel‟s handle, but parallel to it. If this is not pos-sible, then the trowel‟s movement on the wall should form a 45° angle with respect to its axis (handle). The aim of the third coat is to obtain a smooth and shiny surface (shiny meaning that the porosity has been reduced as much as possible). You need to understand that when the material begins to dry, it shrinks, opening up micro-pores. The more micro-pores there are, the less shiny the surface will be. If the third coat is too thick, either by mistake or by necessity (in the case where the previous coat was not smooth enough), the finish might not be shiny enough. To avoid this, it may be preferable to apply the third coat in two layers. First, by applying a quick coat without polishing to a square-meter area, and then by applying another again, this time completing the polishing as described above. Interiors: After a minimum of 24 hours, at least one coat of the following can be applied: A coat of Natural Bee‟s Wax to obtain waterproofing and a general protection against dirt. It makes the surface shinier. A coat of Marseille Soap waterproofing. This does not make the surface look shinier.

Unlike the marble it has a single soft color with small shadings. A natural material, it is made of lime and ground marble. Hardness and resistance are characteristic to Marmorino, even in moist environments like the Venetian lagoon. Marmorino is highly appreciated for its aesthetic effect, unique when properly lighted. It is used in sophisticated environments such as reception areas, offices, and villas. It is used in the bath-

room as an alternative to marble and ceramic.

Description: The surface of the Classic finishing is glossy shining with a lot of depth. The finish maintains a soft texture: the movement between the darks and the lights is gradual and the surface reflects the light very well. The workmanship may or may not be visible depending on the application.

Composition: Slaked lime, very smooth marble powder and special additives

Packaging: 20kg. net (44lb) polyethylene containers 5 kg. net (11 lb) polyethylene containers The product is

white and can be tinted with UTC Color System.

Theoretical yield: Full 2.5 coat cycle for polished Classic finish: Metric: Approximately 800-1000 grams per square meter, i.e. 20-25 square meters per 20 kg bucket. U.S.: Approximately 210-260 square feet per 20kg

bucket.

Step by step coverage:

1st coat: Metric: Approximately 500-600 grams per square meter, i.e. 40-48 square meters per 20kg bucket. U.S.: Approximately 440-520 square feet per 20 kg bucket. There is generally no need to color the material

for the first coat.

2nd Coat - Step One Metric: Approximately 220-300 grams per square meter, i.e. 80-110 square meters per 20 kg bucket. U.S.: Approximately 880-1000 square feet per 20kg bucket.

2nd Coat - Step Two (Polishing Coat) Metric: Approximately 80-100 grams per square meter, i.e. 240-300 square meters per 20kg bucket. U.S.: Approximately 2500-3300 square feet per 20kg bucket. Marmorino Carrara:

Before application: Protection of the work area: Tape around all baseboards, doors and windows before beginning work. The first coat applied can be either white or colored plaster. Don‟t apply in temperatures be-low 5°C (41°F). Remember to have a strong light source parallel to the wall and situated on only one of the two sides of the wall you are working on (usually on the same side other sources of light come from such as the windows). In this way the shadow of the trowel allows you to see the actual state of the finish. Every so often, during the second and third coat, the light should be moved so that the wall doesn‟t dry out too much in one spot from the heat of the lamp. The first coat is applied with a metal trowel using visible strokes, which will be the underlying base for the final coats. This coat is applied thickly, using about 950/ 1000 grams of material per square meter. The aim in laying the first coat is to obtain a thick, absorbent layer on which to spread the successive coats. When the first coat has completely dried, normally by the next day, the second coat is carefully ap-plied with a large metal trowel using 750 / 800 grams per square meter. Always keep in mind that the aim of this coat is to lay the smoothest and most uniform surface possible, being careful to avoid the creation of shiny areas. Since shiny areas can cause problems when applying the successive coats, it is necessary to work with a light touch, without pressing too hard; maintain a 40° angle with the blade of the trowel. If a single second coat does not succeed in obtaining a smooth, even surface, you should apply another coat before the second coat begins to dry. We suggest applying this additional second coat especially when the desired finish is to have little or no texture or when you want to achieve a superior quality job.

During all the application of the three coats keep a strong light parallel to the wall. To avoid problems removing the masking tape at the end of the job, it is best to replace all the tape when the first coat is almost or completely dry. As soon as the second coat begins to dry you can apply (wet into wet, so that the granules of marble can penetrate into the previously applied coat) the last one in very thin layer (80–100 grams per m2) to small ar-eas (max. 1 m2) with a large, or better yet, medium-sized metal trowel. Normally, you should start high on the wall (on either the right- preferred by left handed- or the left side –preferred by right-hand people- of the wall) swiping on one trowel application after another; each time, the trowel swipe should be in a different direction than the previous one so that you obtain a harmonious design. At the beginning of each swipe, the blade of the trowel should be at a 30–35° angle to the wall moving toward the plaster you have already laid. As you continue the swiping movement, you immediately remove excess material by changing the angle of the spat-ula to 40–45° while moving toward the area you have previous laid. In this way you keep the newly-laid plas-ter thin enough over the previous applications while shining the area of contact between the newly-laid plaster and the area you have already polished. Since the material on your spatula dries out over time, occasionally you will need to scrape the thickened material off, disposing of it, and replacing it with fresh plaster. To achieve seamless application when moving from one section to the other you need to proceed both horizontally and vertically. Normally, the application should continue until the wall is completely finished. If the wall is large, you will need more than one person to apply the finish; otherwise, you risk leaving unsightly overlapping marks, With this coat, proceed to the final polishing, going over the surface repeatedly with a clean metal trowel. Be sure the edges of the blade of the trowel are always even by using P240–360 sandpaper. Occasionally, go back to the last square meter and burnish all of it. For a more highly polished finish we suggest burnishing at the end (after burnished with the metal trowel and before it's dry) using a plastic trowel (prepared with rounded edges) and then with a soft fabric cloth. If 3 people are working, it‟s best that 2 people apply the ma-terial with a quick polishing and the 3rd person only polish. Important note: While applying the third coat, but especially during the polishing phase be careful to move the trowel with the back of the trowel directly following in the path of the front of the trowel. That is, the movement of the trowel MUST NOT be perpendicular to the trowel‟s handle, but parallel to it. If this is not possible, then the trowel‟s movement on the wall should form a 45° angle with respect to the its axis (the handle).

With Carrara, once it is completely dry, but not before 24 hours have passed, we suggest using our Natural Bee’s Wax, colored with the same pigment you used for the stucco. It makes the finish more refined ( “richer”), reducing light spots.

Composition: Powdered slaked lime (35%), marble dust aggregate with variable particle size, water and additives (less than 2% total in wet volume). There are four grades available: INTONACHINO EXTRA FINE, With marble grains from 0.0 to 0.5mm INTONACHINO FINE, With marble grains from 0.0 to 0.7mm INTONACHINO MEDIUM, With marble grains from 0.0 to 0.9mm INTONACHINO GROSSO ( Coarse), With marble grains from 0.0 to 1.1mm Packaging: 24 kg, 52.9 lb polyethylene containers The product is white and can be tinted with UTC Color System. Theoretical Yield: X-fine - 125 - 175 sq ft per 24kg fine - 100 - 150 sq ft per 24kg medium - 75 - 125 sq ft per 24kg coarse - 50 - 100 sq ft per 24kg

-Apply the first coat with a metal trowel being careful to apply evenly over the entire surface. Let it dry completely.

-Apply the second coat, being careful to proceed seamlessly from one work area to another. A few minutes after applying the sec-

ond coat, wipe over the entire surface with a dry sponge trowel to make the surface uniform. It may be best to perform this step

twice: once immediately after application of the Intonachino, and then again after a few minutes. The dry sponge trowel can be

scraped clean with a metal trowel from time to time.

-To obtain a chiaroscuro effect of light and dark shades, you can use a wet sponge trowel. Some areas will be wetter than others.

The wetter areas will appear lighter in tone because the water will have deposited lime on the surface.

Don’t apply in temperatures below 5° C. (41° F.)

During application be sure the work area isn’t too damp or warm to avoid problems with application time

Enjoying a recent surge of popularity in the architectural and design communities, Tadelakt, for cen-turies, has been appreciated for its durability and aesthetically pleasing exotic appearance. Tadelakt may be used in wet areas such as showers and spas, as well as on floors and countertops.

Description: Tadelakt has a smooth appearance, slightly shiny like Marmorino Carrara, but thicker and less textured. Tadelakt is very durable and quite water resistant, but breathable. Composition: Lime powder, slightly hydraulic, with stone granules of variable thickness up to 1,2 mm. special additives facilitate application, by aiding in adhesion and reducing cracking. White - can be tinted. Packaging: 18 kg Polyethylene containers Theoretical yield: Full 2.5 coat cycle for polished finish: Metric: Approximately 6-7 square meters per 18 kg bucket. U.S.: Approximately 65-75 square feet per 18 kg bucket. Mixed volume in 24kg using 1½ gal. of water

How to apply: The preparation of the substrate is similar to that used with Stucco Italiano Marmorino Carrara. The ideal sub-strate is new plaster composed of lime, a little cement and sand. It can also be applied over old substrates as long as there is no crumbling and it has been treated with a Lime tolerant primer.

Mix an 18 kg. container material with about 1½ gallons of water. Once the material is well-mixed, it can be colored and then left to rest for about a half an hour. It can then be applied, either that day or the next. (The material will still be good for several days if it is kept in a sealed container away from heat. However, it‟s best to apply it within 2 or 3 days.) After the substrate has been prepared, the first coat, tinted or not (white), is applied with a metal trowel. (With the traditional Moroccan method, it is applied with a tool similar to a Swiss trowel which leaves a slightly wavy surface.) Let the first coat dry completely (overnight). Remember that part of the pattern that is left in the first coat will be visible in the finished work. Before beginning the second coat, we advise, as we do in the instructions for Marmorino Carrara, to replace all the protective tape. For the second coat, apply the material with the color of your preference with a large, metal trowel. As with Marmorino Carrara, it should be applied over the entire surface smoothing out any marks left by the trowel, keeping in mind that any marks left at this stage with remain visible in the final sur-face. (For those wishing for a completely smooth surface, pass over the entire surface with a with a sponge float.) Let it dry a little until it loses its shine, which is due to an excess of water. In some places you will see a slight lightening of the color. At this point you can apply the third coat using the same material and the same big trowel, or a smaller one if you chose. The important thing is to use a trowel with sharp edges. Apply a thin layer, pressing (unifying) the second and the third coat into one thickness. You will have to pass over the sur-face numerous times, always moving the trowel in different directions until you achieved the desired finish. If you see bubbles appear during this stage, you‟ll need to wait a little more before the final burnishing stage.

It may be advantageous at the final stage of polishing to use a plastic trowel, especially with lighter colors, to avoid burning the surface. At this point in traditional Moroccan applications, the burnishing is done with a pol-ished stone that, given its round shape, allows the artisan to follow the wavy surface which has been created in the preceding coats with the Swiss-type trowel.

When the Tadelakt is completely dry, usually after one or more days, it can be protected with a special Moroccan soap (the same one which is still used in the public, Moroccan baths) which is made from olive oil. The soap is spread as is, or diluted up to 100%, with as much water as desired. Since this soap is very dark, we advise that it be well-diluted when applied on light colors in order to avoid unwanted discolorations. Nor-mally it should be applied with a metal trowel, rubbing it on the surface until it is completely absorbed. Any excess soap can be removed using a cloth after about 10 minutes.

How to use Terracotta Powder: -Add the contents of a 400-gram container to a bucket of Marmorino Classic or Mar-morino Carrara for use during application of the final coat. It is not necessary to add any to the previous coats. -Add the ter-racotta just before applying it. The material should be used within a few days because terracotta makes the lime hydrau-lic, and it could, therefore, harden inside the bucket. (Terracotta is made of clay and what distinguishes slaked lime from hydraulic lime is the presence of clay.) It‟s especially ef-fective when used in conjunction with yellow, ivory and light terracotta colors. It is normal that small pieces of uncrushed terracotta will leave small scratches on the surface of the fin-

How to use Salt & Pepper Sand: -Add the silica sand to Mar-morino Carrara, during the second and third coats. The rec-ommended proportion is one sack of silica sand to one 24 kg container of Marmorino Carrara. -The Marmorino Carrara is applied normally. -It is also possible use it with Marmorino Classic: Pour 2 sacks of sand into a container of Carrara and apply this as the first coat. -Wait until the material is 50% dry and smooth out the surface with a sponge float (the right time to do that is easy to judge). -Let it dry completely (24 hours), and then finish it with two coats of Classic. For this finish, it is strongly recommended that you use Texprime before applying the first coat so that the substrate is rough enough to work well with the sponge float.

Where to use Densifier: It is used on lime-based products. Why use Densifier: This product is normally used when the plaster has become too thin because of exces-sive use of a liquid colorant. How to use Densifier: -The product should be slowly poured in the bucket while mixing the material with the beater. Once all the Densifier has been added, continue to mix for another minute, then let it rest for a half an hour. -Normally a 50 gr. is enough to thicken one 24 KG bucket. But if necessary, you can add up to 3 times of Densifier. -Remember that all lime-based products tend to thicken over time, so keep this in mind if the plaster will be applied several hours after mixing.

Marble Powder

When to use Marble Powder: One of the best methods for smoothing a texture Marmorino Carrara or Marmorino Classic is to add some marble powder to the first and second coats (a maximum of 10% of the total weight, that is, 2 kg. in a 24 kg Marmorino tub). The addition of marble powder prevents the product from shrinking so much when it dries, which in turn ensures a smooth first and second coat. Marble Powder can also be added to a first coat when it is too rough or irregular. The addition of marble powder does not change the color of the material.

oil and basic mineral salts such as soda. Packaging: 100 grams tubs Theoretical yield: 65 - 75 sq. ft. per 200 gram container How to apply Moroccan Soap for Tadelakt: Apply to the surface of completely dried Tade-lakt with a metal trowel. Go over it several times so that it penetrates and impregnates the surface. The double action of the soap pro-vides waterproofing and brightens up the col-ors. First, because the soap combines with the lime creating a fat molecule swelling in water, the surface becomes impermeable to water. And second, the olive oil not only brightens the colors, but works as a waterproofing agent as well. Cultural Interest: In Moroccan baths, Moroccan soap is renowned for its exfoliating properties. A key part in the hammam rit-ual, Moroccan soap is rubbed vigorously onto the skin with either a hand mitt or loofa before being thoroughly rinsed off to leave the skin smooth and supple. After being wrapped in a large towel and remaining in this steam bath, bathers finally retire to the cooling-room for a period of relaxation.

Product Description

Cera Liquid Wax (Natural Bees' Wax)

Cera Bees‟ wax is an easy to apply, water-based wax. It is useful be-cause it doesn‟t change the appearance of a lime-based finish. It pro-vides a light protection against liquid and dirt, while increasing the shine.

This is mineral wax made of paraffin diluted in a water based emulsion. It can be use to polish and protect all smooth surfaces such as Marmorino. As with all mineral waxes it alters the appearance of the surface slightly, giving it a pleasant, light sheen, which some people consider pleasing. This product gives a high level of protection from splatters and dirt in general. It is recommended for use on Marmorino when the surface is exposed to extreme dirt situations / high traffic areas, such as shower stalls and public areas that are prone to get a lot of handprints. It is also available with a metallic effect with the Gold, Silver, or Copper versions. Application Apply a very thin, uniform layer with a metal trowel. It can be polished after a half an hour with a buffer. With Marmorino, you have to be careful not to leave marks. If too much is applied in one spot without spreading it well, a dark, greasy spot can appear where the surface has absorbed too much wax. Because of this, it is ad-visable that you are very careful to spread this wax very thinly, or before applying it, protect the surface first with a coat of our bee‟s wax. Yield About 18 sq. m. per liter. Packaging: 1 Quart.

This guide is meant to help in the use of and the varied questions arising from, the application of Texturline painting and plastering systems.

When introducing Texturline, it‟s important to first define the scope of the products being used. When we say this we mean explain clearly what the products do and their advantages over conventional methods of textur-ing attaining similar looks to competitors systems. Texturline is an acrylic system simulating more conventional oil glazes in paint or traditional lime plasters that have existed for centuries. We need to clear up the myth that acrylics are toxic and not environmentally friendly: acrylic plasters have are low or zero in VOC content with emissions under regulated standards, con-sisting of natural minerals as fillers with no toxic content. To give you a perspective California the leader in clean air regulations require a rating of 350g per litre for faux finishing products, a number attained by Faux Effects on their products. Why are any VOC‟s presents at all in Texturline plaster and glazes? The simple an-swer is to make the products apply easily and be more durable. There are no unpleasant smells or an allergy problems with Texturline plasters, this is one of the reasons to use this technology. Do natural products have VOC‟s? The answer sometimes, as many manufacturers add binders to lime and therefore solvents to coalesce them, these are VOC‟s. At this point you surely have questions, as most people do not understand the concept of ozone depletion and global warming, the best thing is giving some sites to read up on. www.epa.gov/iaq/voc.html Zero VOC - any paint or product with VOC‟s in the range of 5 grams /litre or less can be called "Zero VOC", according to the EPA . Some manufacturers may claim "Zero-VOC's", but these paints may still use color-ants, biocides and fungicides with some VOC's. Adding a color tint usually brings the VOC level up to 10 grams/litre, which is still quite low. Low VOC - Low VOC paints, plasters, glazes and varnishes that use water as a carrier instead of petroleum-based solvents. As such, the levels of harmful emissions are lower than solvent-borne surface coatings. These coatings also contain no, or very low levels, of heavy metals and formaldehyde. The amount of VOC's varies among different "low-VOC" products, and is listed on the paint can or MSDS. Paints and stains, to meet EPA standards, must not contain VOCs in excess of 200 grams per litre. As a general rule, low VOC paints marketed by reputable paint manufacturers usually meet the 50/100 g/L VOC threshold. Paints with the Green Seal Standard (GS-11) mark are certified lower than 50 g/L (for flat sheen) or 150 g/L (for non-flat sheen). Ethylene Glycol - a solvent used in latex paints, is listed as a hazardous substance and a toxic air contami-nant under many federal and state regulations. A clear, colorless, odourless liquid, ethylene glycol and its va-pour can be toxic to humans. Exposure may cause irritation to the skin, eyes, nose, throat and lungs, and al-lergic reactions are possible. Over exposure could lead to nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, coma, and respira-tory failure. Repeated over exposure can permanently damage the kidneys, the full line of Texturline prod-ucts is ethylene glycol-free. VOC Content: Usually listed in grams per litre, this can range from 5 to 200. Using a product with the lowest VOC content will yield the lowest overall health risk. Solids Content: Solids, or pigments, can range in concentration from 10% to 100% by volume. The higher the percent solids, the less volatiles are in the product. Note water is a volatile. EPA, OSHA, DOT Registrations: When a product has an EPA, OHSA or DOT registration number, this means that it contains toxic ingredients which must be monitored. One way to ensure that you are using a product that is safe both for the environment and the applicator is to seek out products which are not regis-tered with these agencies.

PRODUCT ORIENTATION #1

Texturbase mineral acrylic plaster : what is it ?

Texturline workhorse and best selling texturing medium is Texturbase How do we present a simple paste, that has no clear identity so the applicator and distributor can understand its uses? Let‟s examine at a can of Texturbase to examine the contents - turn the can upside down to see the consis-tency of the material – smell the contents, even touch its consistency. This method is called tactile recogni-tion, coming into contact first hand with the medium. An indicator to the uninitiated that it is environmentally friendly is the low in odour and we can guarantee as the manufacturer chemically this is a true statement. “Texturbase is an acrylic paste which dries in 20/30 minutes depending on the thickness of the coat applied. It can be recoated once the film feels hard and no longer cold. The medium (paste) can be tinted to any col-our using conventional tint systems such as universal colorants, any acrylic paint or machine tint (as used in a paint store). The range of colours that can be obtained is unlimited using different bases allow for deeper colours. Bases include white, red, black, neutral*.‟‟ (*Neutral does not contain titanium white and allows deeper colours to be made from it). Texturbase is sold by weight and sizes move up in ratios of four E.g. 1.5 kg can – 6kg.can – 24 kg pail. Can and bucket sizes are as follows: US Qt. or 0.946liter US Gallon or 3.78litres - 3.9 US Gallons – 24kg or 15 litres. Note sizes may vary in different counties see the local distributor's web sites In most cases these are full containers, the exception being red that contain less material to allow for tinting, 5 kg in a US gallon or 3.78 litre cans. Coverage: 200/250 sq. ft for a 6-kilo can VOC 60g per litre excluding water Usage is for interior surfaces only. Fire rating is classified non-combustible and it does not contribute to smoke in case of a fire. As do all our products in the plaster group. Class 0 in UK Class B in EU Clean up and dilution is with water Dry material removal is by hot water or a light solution of menthol hydrate and water always test for colour-fastness of fabrics and carpets. To render washable apply one of the various top coating systems available from Texturline. It has a low odour and is environmentally safe though disposal should always be done according to local au-thority by-laws. Priming As this is an acrylic medium we need to seal the substrate with a primer unlike normal plaster where this is not required. Primers or set coats as often they are called can be any primer that is suitable preparation for acrylic paint. Texturline manufactures a product called Sharktooth primer /set coat which is keyed, that is it has tooth. It is especially recommended when going over existing paints which are shinny or on hard styrene boards when sampling. If you are asked about application over wallpaper, prime with flat oil primer and re-pair any lifts or bubbles from the substrate. For absorbent or lime bases we recommend our lime tolerant primer called Texprime which seals absorbent substrates. Q. Why use a primer that is not smooth? A. When applying plasters a primer that has a texture allows the first coat to be applied thicker without mud cracking. The other advantage is the overall number of coats required to create a finish is subsequently re-duced, economising time and money. Q. Why are there two primers? A. Sharktooth is a primer Texprime is a primer sealer, the difference is primer are designed to bond to most substrates primer sealers will penetrate a porous surface making it ready to receive a coating. Q. Can these primers be sprayed? A. Only if the spray tip is of the correct size and the gun is a HVLP airless equipment could cause injuries in the same way sandblasting would.

Tools

Application – a variety of tools can be used including commonly the following – trowels, spatulas, putty

knives, drywall knives, sea sponges, rollers, brushes and splatter or texturing equipment.

Q. How is it polished?

A. In most cases with a spatula or trowel in combination with a Texturline acrylic wax.

Q. How much does it cover or in other words what is the spread rate?

A. This all depends on the technique used but in generally 200/250 square feet is usual for spatula finishing

including all coats.

Q. Why couldn‟t I use drywall mud instead to texture?

A. It requires painting to prevent absorption and generally chips and has no possibility of reaching the level

of sheen that can be achieved with Texturbase when polished.

Q. Once it‟s open how long will it keep in the can?

A. If the left over is covered with a plastic film up to a year, if the product remains unopened 3 years.

Q. Heavily textured walls what can we do?

A. The answer is have a plasterer smooth out the wall in cases where the finish requires it, otherwise com-

bine with what exists on the wall with Texturbase to make a mixed effect creating a new look.

Q. How much does it cost and what are its main advantages?

A. To address cost we must look at square footage for a finish, in worst-case scenarios cost is always under

a dollar US a sq. ft. (in the case of UK less than a £10 a meter)

The answer to the second part of the question is time – the timesaving due to fast recoating on multi layer-

ing and no sanding (the advantage of less health risk due to dust inhalation) Also mud or drywall compound

is slow to dry and labour cost are expensive. Labour cost added to the final cost to the client will make or

break a finish, so any time saving that can be factored into the bottom line allows you to make more profit

and do more projects long term. The average cost per sq. ft. US is $5.00 in the UK £50 a sq. meter which is

a factor of x5 against material cost. The average surface that can be applied by one person in a day is be-

tween 250 sq ft or 25 sq meters, up to 400 sq ft or 40 sq meters depending on finish and difficulty.

Q. Will it chip off corners?

A. Yes! But do you know why? Drywall mud on corner beads under the primer is soft and does not stick to

galvanized steel corner beads and that is often the case. You should sand down to the corner and prime

with a high adhesion primer like „Zinsser BIN‟ it comes in spray cans that are very convenient. Apply the

Texturbase directly over the primer this will not chip under normal use.

Q. How thick can it be applied?

A. In most application we use multi coating of thin layers but fairly thick coats can be used in cases where

high profile dimension is required such as metallic looks. It is not uncommon for antique plaster finishes to

have a mud cracked look this can be done by applying thick coats and accelerating the drying with a hair

dryer.

Q. What is in Texturbase?

A. A high bond acrylic resin, Calcium carbonate or marble flour, clay and a few additives for flow and to pre-

serve it in can and that‟s about all.

Q. Can I tint it with powder pigment?

A. Not easily, unless the pigment is pre-dissolved in an alcohol water mix first.

Q. Can I dilute it?

A. Yes with water depending on the use up to 30%, Texturglaze extender to get more open time.

Q. Can I put in on floors?

Carolina Sandstone This product is a unique Texturline medium it has all the advantages of Texturbase with the added advantage of a granular texture. In general it‟s used to reproduce antique and polished stone and as it contains clays that can be both tinted and stained, true stone colour and its texture can easily be reproduced. It comes in a paste to accommodate the varied requirements in finishing, for example when cracked walls are needed best, for embossed stencil-

ling. The tools used for application are either blued steel, stainless trowels and rollers.

Carolina Sandstone is an excellent medium for block walls as masking tapes cut clean joints and can be re-moved later after all coats have been applied and fully dry. The best method of application is multicoating rather than trying to apply one thick coat. The instructor should take the opportunity at this time to pass around some finished samples to show the variations achieved with the product Packaging: 5.5kilo and 22-kilo containers it has a shelf life of 3 years Coverage: 150/180 sq. ft for a 5.5-kilo can

difference is in the container sizes: These may vary in different counties.

General questions on Carolina Sandstone

Q. What are the advantages of this plaster over Texturbase?

A. As with most variations it allows the applicator more freedom to create alternative looks. In this case a

honed stone which is quite different from Texturbase which is perfectly smooth and can be polished to a high

sheen level. The general application is usually followed by application of Texturline flat varnish creating vari-

ous stone aspects.

Q. Can it be polished?

A. Yes using a spatula and wax as in the case of Texturbase but the sheen level will be less.

Q. Can the cracking be automatic and no heat induced

A. Yes using Texturline Aquaglass size as a full coat under it or partially for defined areas.

Q. What coloring method are used in this system

A. Integral colour would be universal colors up to 5% by volume

Q. Can topically color be applied

A. There are two methods, staining or wash and glazing, the former using Texturline Stonewash pigment in

water the latter one of the Texturline glazing systems.

Q. What would be a typical use for this product?

A. Due to its versatility it can be used in a variety of applications from crafting to large wall installations in

Texturstone

This simple limestone coating is ready to use, roll on or trowel up stone effect, requires one coat to produce a

finished look. The qualities we were looking for is the coating‟s is the ability to absorb a glaze or stain, so

when wiped back a small percentage remains locked in the surface. Bonding to varied substrates is an impor-

tant factor when finishing is externally; After the application of a glaze or stain the product is washable and

needs no other protection for both interior and exterior surfaces. It has its own high bond binder built into the

system, therefore reducing the risk of delaminating or weather driven chalking and flaking. Colouring the sys-

tem is easy as it accepts all forms of water compatible tints and pigments as well as liquid acrylics and super

saturates, in fact anything containing enough colour to achieve the desired result. It can be rolled directly

from the can and texture can be modified by any method that will achieve a desired result. We recommend

the use of gloves as the material will de difficult to remove once dry on the skin. Splashes on adjacent sur-

faces should be removed before drying with a sponge or wet rag, .

Packaging: 6kg in a 3.78l can 24kg in a plastic pail supplied in high hide white base

Calce Veneziano

This plaster has the qualities of Texturbase with the added durability of slaked lime that also adds to the final

look and sheen. The name Venetian plaster or Stucco Antico are general terms applied to this finish, the real

difference is in the application which Veneziano excels by its ease of use. The general use is where a refined

softer look is requires or a high polished plaster is specified. The higher opacity of the final coating will reduce

the texture to soft velour with bleached overtones, though polishing will reduce that effect. When combined

with our burnishing flat wax it adds to the durability and washability. This product is for interior use only. It‟s a

good idea to lay down a scratch coat of Texturbase or Sharktooth primer to key in the texture onto surfaces

where adhesion may be a problem.

The burnishing wax was designed to be completely compatible with and accentuate the detail in the texture

as well as produce a high sheen that is washable.

Coloring can be done using universal colorants up to 5% by volume 5flozs by gallon (5kg)

Packaging is on European standard 25kg - 5kg - 1.25kg

Paint base color with latex flat or eggshell in a shade matching the Moiré. Apply in an irregular trowel move-

ment the Moiré. Allow 4 hours for the product to level and dry. Do not wash the surface for 7 days when it

will be at optimum curing and fully washable.

Texturtop Texturtop is a complex system not easily understood so we present the product in stages according to finish and type: The first hurdle to overcome is the word wax that defines these products; it is an acrylic wax not unlike plastic tile sealer, therefore water based and not solvent. It is recoverable with other coatings including paint where solvent wax cannot. 1. Flat wax 2. Burnishing wax 3. Satin wax 4. White wax. 5. Metallic wax 6. Iridescent wax Flat wax: has a low or medium sheen when applied to stone finishes and can be burnished to a high sheen over Texturbase or Veneziano as it penetrates and combines with the plaster to do this. The compatibility of this wax when applied over lime-based products makes it one of the best water-based sealers on the market. Satin wax is generally used over areas where high traffic is a concern or over patina metal or finishes where you are unable to burnish. Where a high sheen is required it lays on the surface as semi gloss sheen. Burnishing wax This wax is based on paraffin wax emulsion with the addition of acrylic resin and can be used in exterior and interior applications over Marmorino Classic, Carrara and Venetiano. It burnishing quality allows for very high sheen levels and superior water resistance. White wax is used to get a coloured effect such as in a Spatulato type finish allowing more definition as it is more opaque when tinted. The method for tinting the colours is by adding universal colour creating a semi opaque trowel up coating. It can be burnished to a high sheen saving both time and labour cost as it creates a polychromatic look without having to apply a clear coat. Metallic waxes in which we use micas to get the various colours. The difference between metallic and irides-cent is the latter is transparent and when applied over dark colours irises „a show of colors of various hues, like a rainbow.‟ Metallic effects are more opaque and are in the metallic hues we associate with gold and sil-ver etc. These products are all very washable and durable and can be applied with a variety of tools. Supplied ready to use in light paste easy to apply by sponge, spatulas and trowels Packaging: 16oz or half a litre and 3.78L for premixed metals and iridescent. 0.946L for clear waxes – 3.78L – 15L.containers and has a shelf life of 3 years Coverage averages 250 sq. ft per litre VOC 70g per litre Fire rating is classified non-combustible and it does not contribute to smoke in case of a fire. Clean up and dilution is with water. Dry material removal is by hot water or a light solution of menthol hydrate and water always test for colourfastness of fabrics and carpets. It will render washable all of the plaster products in our system. General When flat wax is used over Texturbase it will allow burnishing or polishing of these products by combining with the base by soaking in and allowing this combination to reach very high sheen levels without looking like plastic. The use of satin wax to attain similar end results with a more resistant surface is possible but tends to be more like Formica in aspect and takes away a little from the traditional look. White wax is generally used where an overlay of alternate colour or colours is required this we generally refer to as Spatulato. It can be burnished and has a wax aspect that is waterproof when cured. Metallic waxes are in general used to simu-late metal or patination on metals. Distressed finishes are particularly effective when Texturline stonewash system is combined over metals and sealed. . As with most Texturline products‟ intermixed between systems is simple and increase the multitude of uses that can be achieved.

Texturtop questions and answers Q. Can I tint clear wax? A. Yes but the effect would be softer tones rather like coloured varnish. Q. What is the highest sheen clear wax? A. Burnishing wax will give the highest sheen when burnished. Q. Is wax washable? A. Yes but the flat wax is less than the others Q. Can I use the wax over glaze and latex? A. Yes but like all waxes the application will or will not leave a movement depending on the tool used Q. Can wax be diluted if so with what? A. Water will dilute waxes to soften effects but you do lose some of the washability Q. Can I add pearl mica powders or bronzing powder? A. Yes and we do in metallic pastes using satin wax as a base but not bronzing powder as it oxidizes. Q. Are they suitable for floors? A. No we recommend floor varnish such as used on concrete or wood Q. Can Metallic waxes be used on their own? A. Yes As a stand-alone system it can be used to texture over painted surfaces also as a stenciling medium for raised effects. Diluted with Texturline extender it forms the basis

for a fast glazing system.

Zero Gloss Varnish is the established as a leader in its field in non reflective protection, based on a urethane resin combined with acrylic, its non yellowing film with its ability to leave the decorative finish colour unaltered is unique. It has a transparency that is unrivalled and if applied in thin coats will not leave lines when rolled. It has been very successful for the film and television industries as it gives unrivaled clarity and low reflection on camera. For the artist the ability to control layers of colour is paramount, zero gloss meets these criteria.

Crackle size One step crackle This all purpose medium that will crack paint on all surfaces. It is fast acting and will crack practically any paint Aquaglass A professional grade crackle medium that has a delayed reaction allowinh paint and plaster to be cracked over large areas.

Versiplast by Briste group This texturing plaster has become our most popular product on the US market. The coating is durable, sand-able, and does not shrink or crack. Texturglaze Extender We should have called it Super glaze; it‟s our best seller and has made Texturline the pioneer in North Amer-ica in the race to see how long can water based glazes stay wet and workable on the wall. It has a no haze flat aspect and will mix with any latex paint to produce a broken color texture with no lap lines. The glaze is timed by the ratio of latex to glaze; an example is a 5 to 1 latex mix will stay workable for 2 hours or more. The more latex you add the shorter open time. Tools for application can be sponges, rags, brushes and or specialty rollers. The VOC level is high at 550g per liter Sizes available are 0.946L, 3.78L & 15L As EPA regulations go into effect in the US and environment Canada we will be phasing this item out and re-placing it with new options at levels below 350g per liter as that figure drops over time. Texturglaze Extender Regulated VOC alternative We offer an alternative for those of you who live in areas where VOC levels are regulated (faux finishing prod-ucts EPA standards 350g per liter) this glaze that has 230g per liter and a 1 hour open time. It offers the alter-native to add UTC colorants instead of latex paint which helps the wet edge stay open longer Sizes available are 3.78L & 15L Texturglaze Basic Glaze This is a satin sheen level and can be used with the addition of universal colorants and acrylic color. The wet edge is 1 hour or more depending on the locality and relative ambient humidity. It is fully washable and re-coatable after 16 hours and is ideal for graining and marbling. Its major selling point is price as its under $45.00 a gallon retail. Sizes available are 0.946L, 3.78L & 15L Prime glaze This is a thin glaze that is a fast dying system for spraying and rapid multi coating. A useful tool for theatre and cinema set décor. It‟s priced competitively at around $35.00 a gallon retail available in gallons only. Scumble Glaze A water based glaze performing like oil. Texturline has formulated oil-based material into a water-based emul-sion and in this scumble, evident to any ex oil paint user. It allows painters to use the same methods to create wood grain and marble as they would in oil glaze. It can be tinted using universal colorants to any require-ment and will add an indispensable tool to decorators. VOC 550g per liter Sizes available are 0.946L, 3.78L & 15L Metaltech metallic paint system This product has been formulated to take advantage of the new technologies that have become available and is now available in 3 bases that can be colored to any custom colour as well as 24 pre formulated ones. The easy application is its strong point; it rolls on over white in two coats in practically all shades. It requires no special rollers and can be used in the same way any latex paint is applied. Available in Pearl/silver and gold base selling retail from $75.00 a gallon incl. tinting Sizes: 0.875L US qt can and 3.4L US gal can Calce Cielo limewash Lime wash is a traditional paint for decoration of exterior and interior walls and ceilings. In its basic form it is white but can be colored with earth or oxide pigments to give a wide range of natural tones. Lime wash is moisture permeable and allows surfaces painted with it to 'breathe'. It is made from lime putty. Lime wash has been used externally and internally for centuries all over the world. It is suitable over lime plaster or render, earth walls, limestone, timber and most old lime wash. It is less effective on cement render, plasterboard or acrylic latex, but is possible to apply, particularly if modified for better adhesion. Lime wash is not recom-mended for impervious materials (granite, hard brick, glossy paint etc). The following formulas allow the user to achieve a color range based on the fan deck

sections labeled MUTED & CLEAN COLORS. The accent colors are not relevant to our products.

These colors are considered custom colors and need to be formulated using the book as a guideline only.

There are rules that are essential to take into account when using Texturbase Neutral basecoat

As this is one base we have to adjust it first to produce at least 2 bases - this is done with the addition

of White tint - namely KX on the Color trend 888 system. The proportion to each base outlined in the

listing is set out in the diagrams below. Though the colors produced are very close to the fan deck it

is inconceivable that every one will be an exact match. If exact matching is required the addition of

a small proportion of the formula or part of it will rectify this discrepancy. Even with the best

intentions the fan deck is a printed reproduction of the intended colors with a latex paint and not plaster.

We also would like to mention that CAROLINA SANDSTONE can also be tinted in the same way.

All other products we manufacture are notable to be accurately tinted in this way but can be custom formulated and formulas retained for future reproduction

The title PASTEL BASE or any number ending in 'P' means the color has a high content of white pigment

TINT BASE or numbers finishing with the letter 'T' for our needs will be treated in the same way as there is

not enough variation to change anything when using our formula proportions fig 2

In both cases add from the machine the proportional value of Y24 (Y being 48 on the scale or 1 oz. volume)

this is the measure to 1.5kg or a qt can (in the case of Carolina 1.375kg)

For the 6kg size the measure is 6Y KX - for the 24kg 24Y KX Carolina will be the same for 5.5Kg and 22 kg.

So to be clear we take the above formulas adding the KX proportionally in each case before adding the color

by dividing then divide the above numbers by 2. See fig. 3
