Planting Areas Concept
All areas are planted to give a long season of flowering display, with a main focus on late spring to autumn.
Area Planting Concept Bioswale HaHa A flower-‐rich edge to the garden in a sunken ‘ditch’. Key species include Iris
pseudacorus (Yellow Flag Iris), Geranium sylvaticum (Wood Cranesbill), Lychnis flos-‐cuculi (Ragged Robin). Primulas Approx 28 sq m.
Meadow Planting In year 1, sown with Pictorial Meadows Standard Mix. Will flower into autumn and will make good impression at September opening. Resow in autumn 2010/spring 2011 with perennial meadow mix. Possible robinsonian planting of perennials into this in places. approx 100 sq m
Marginal Wetlands Relatively bulky perennials to produce a flowering marginal edge to the stream, in permanently wet ground, and deterring access to the water. Key species include: Osmunda regalis (Royal Fern), Caltha palustris (Marsh Marigold), Lythrum salicaria (Purple Loosetrife), Cardamine pratensis (Lady’s Smock), Euphorbia palustris (Marsh Spurge), Ligularia stenophylla?
