“Technical Textiles”

4. To collaborate with the Indian Council of Medical Research for conducting a Multicentric Study

5. To collaborate with Indian Dietetics Association to organize a State level seminar on “Cereals“

6. To introduce a 1 year diploma course in CAD-CAM ( Computer-aided design and computer

aided manufacturing ) affiliated to the University of Mumbai

7. To introduce two Value-Added courses “Cultural Heritage and Management” and “ Art Based

Therapy”

8. To update the publications of the Research Center “Calorie Counter”, “Golden Greens”, “Food

and Mood”

9. To introduce an Entrepreneurship Incubation Cell (Textile and Fashion Technology )

10. To renovate the Chemistry and Food laboratories

11. To engage in exploratory work regarding the academic exchange with foreign universities

Department of Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics is planning to organise

1. Capacity Building Workshop for different target groups on Breastfeeding and

Complementary feeding.

2. Half day Seminar to commemorate “Word Breastfeeding Week “ in 2017-18.

3. Half day Seminar during National Nutrition Week.

4. Short term courses e.g.: HACCP for students

Department of Human Development plans to organise National Conference in

collaboration with the Indian Association of Career and Livelihood Planning (IACLP) in

December 2017. Conference name: “Career Guidance and Livelihood Planning across the

Life Span: The Way Forward for India”.

Department of Human Development plans to organise Conference on “Child

Development and Neurodevelopmental Disorders: A Rational approach” in

collaboration with New Horizons Institute of Education and Research and Tata

Institute of Social Sciences in January 2018

Department of Textiles and Fashion Technology plans to start two new Masters

programmes(Self Financed) and a value added course in STYLING in collaboration with

Orange Tress.

Department of Community Resource Management plans to organise a State Level

Seminar on ‘Career prospects in Community Resource Management’ on 2017-18

PLANS OF THE INSTITUTION FOR 2019-20

1.Autonomy will be processed. Although being a single Home Science College under the University of

Mumbai, we do have autonomy in designing curriculum and making academic decisions, however

autonomy will also give more freedom and promote timely decision making.

2. MOU with Industries and Government and Nongovernment organizations to strengthen professional

collaborations.

3. To apply for Best College of University of Mumbai to gain recognition and further professional growth

of the Institution.

4. Upgrading of Infrastructure – Labs, Computers and Audio Visual System.

5. Joining the IQAC cluster for better networking and ongoing training.

6. MIS development will be an ongoing process.

7. Alumni collaboration will be strengthened.
