MINUTES PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION The Brandon Planning & Zoning Commission met in regular session at 6:30 p.m. on June 18, 2020 at the Brandon City Council Chambers. Roll call was taken. Members present were Commissioners Paul Bosch, Brian Heidbrink, Brookes Noem, Rob Schoeneman and Alica Thiele. Commissioner Jim Starzl was present via Zoom. Also present were Alderman Chuck Parsons, Building Official Paul Clarke and City Engineer Tami Jansma. Absent were City Administrator Bryan Read and Mayor Paul Lundberg. Commissioner Noem moved Commissioner Heidbrink seconded to approve the agenda. A roll call vote showed Bosch, Heidbrink, Noem, Schoeneman, Starzl, Thiele aye. Motion carried. Commissioner Heidbrink moved Commissioner Schoeneman seconded to approve the consent calendar which contained the following: a plat of Oak Ridge Subdivision Lot 20B Block 2 and a plat of Westview Estates Lots 1, 2 & 3 Block 6. A roll call vote showed Bosch, Heidbrink, Noem, Schoeneman, Starzl, Thiele aye. Motion carried. Commissioner Thiele moved Commissioner Bosch seconded to approve the minutes of the June 4, 2020 regular meeting. A roll call vote showed Bosch, Heidbrink, Noem, Schoeneman, Starzl, Thiele aye. Motion carried. At 6:34 p.m., having no further business, Commissioner Thiele moved Commissioner Bosch seconded to adjourn the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting. A roll call vote showed Bosch, Heidbrink, Noem, Schoeneman, Starzl, Thiele aye. Motion carried. At 6:34 p.m. Chairman Parsons called the Board of Adjustment meeting to order. Roll call was taken. A Variance Application for 803 N. 9th Avenue was presented. Applicant Jamie Engelien was present for discussion. Jamie is requesting an additional curb cut for the property located at 803 N. 9th Avenue, to allow for angled parking in front of the building. Applicant could reduce the existing curb cut for this building since traffic will be one way, and by reducing the proposed size of the new curb cut would then be in compliance with City ordinance. At 6:46 p.m. having no further business, Commissioner Heidbrink moved Commissioner Thiele seconded to adjourn the Board of Adjustment meeting. A roll call vote showed Bosch, Heidbrink, Noem, Schoeneman, Starzl, Thiele aye. Motion carried.
