proudly designed and laser-cut in the USA

process

All of our stationery and paper products are laser-cut.

Laser-cutting is an advanced technology that uses a directed, high-power laser beam

to cut a computer-specified pattern. Each of our designs are drawn, input into the

computer, and then translated by the laser-cutter to create our cards. Aesthetically,

the result is reminiscent of the ancient paper cutting art form and yet the technology

allows for intricate patterns to be cut with ease, speed, and perfection. Some

browning may occur due to the inherent process of laser-cutting. However, our goal

is to always achieve as minimal burn as possible and deliver a cleanly-cut card.

We strive to use paper that is made from 100% post-consumer recycled fibers and are

certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. The papers are manufactured using non-

polluting renewable energy. Mill processes, including packaging, are environmentally

preferable.

Our envelopes are environmentally conscious: made with factories using green, on-

site energy, FSC certified and recycled papers, and of course made in the USA.

Single cards are packaged in crystal clear certified compostable EarthFirst PLA film.

Our signature white cards use Sundance 100 PC White 110 lb. cover stock paper.

Flat stationery is cut on luxuriously thick Classic Crest Solar White 165 lb. cover stock.

We feature duplex stock- paper with two colors- to highlight each card’s inherent

depth. The 120 lb. Classic Duplex papers pair a rich color (red, royal blue, gray, or

black) with a bright white interior. New this year, we are introducing the use of 105 lb.

Sorbet Duplex papers. This stock features bright color combinations: pink and green,

green and blue, and blue and purple.

Please expect 4-6 weeks for an opening order to be fulfilled. Reorders have a 2-3

week turnaround time. Please specify if you have a specific delivery date in mind.

We are always happy to rush orders: please contact us. Some rush orders may be

subject to a rush fee.

Domestic orders ship using USPS 2-3 day priority from Florida and are subject to

shipping & handling charges based on destination and speed. Shipping costs are

charged at time of shipment and will be included on your final invoice.

Returns are accepted in the original, unopened packaging within 5 days of receipt.

Any damages or incorrectly shipped merchandise must be reported within 5 days of

receipt, and must be returned to us within an additional 5 days of report. If you wish

to cancel or change an order, please contact us within 24 hours by phone or email.

Any reductions to your order or cancellations made after that period are subject to

a 20% restocking fee.

hello.

We are Virginia Dreisbach and Mishayla Schmidt. We became friends while studying architecture at the University of Florida and we

often credit those delirium-inducing late nights in the studio with the conceptual

start to our company. During school we would make cards for our friends and it was

a running joke that if architecture didn’t work out we would start making greeting

cards. Little did we know that life would bring each of us to a crossroads - both

looking for a more intimate relationship with design. It was then, in the fall of 2011

that we reunited to launch Plane Paper.

What’s in a name? With architecturally-trained minds, we design and conceptualize

in all three dimensions. Our name, Plane Paper, is a play on words: referencing our

cards’ origin as a single plane from which we work to transform and manipulate into

anything imaginable. The cards truly stand out by utilizing the negative process of

subtracting and cutting paper away, as opposed to the additive process of printing

with ink.

introduce something new and unique to the stationery industry. We find inspiration

in everything from textile patterns to vintage botanicals and posters to typography

and favorite expressions. We also like to play with three-dimensionality and layers - a

nod to our roots in design. This can often spark ideas such as our pop-out salutations

and tri-fold cards that begin to tell a story.
