3.0 TESTING OUTPUT

In regards to the environmental requirements illustrated above, Planar Monolithics Industries, Inc. (PMI) proposes that that our proposed ERDLVA be qualified by design based upon our past successes with very similar products tested over similar parameters as required by SRC.

For Scientific Research Corporation’s consideration we attach to this Qualification Test Procedure the environmental test reports from several of our past programs. We believe that you will find these to your satisfaction.

Qualtest operates under the relevant quality system requirements of ISO-9001:2000 for providingenvironmental simulation services as recognized by TRC Registration Certificate #00018. This laboratory alsomaintains A2L4 accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 for the specific tests listed in A2L4 Certificate #1805.01.However, the test results included in this report are not covered by the accreditation.

FOREWORD

The objective of this test program was to subject customer provided test hardware to environmental simulationin compliance vvith customer stated specifications, including any authorized modifications, deviations orconcessions to the original requirements. Test hardware consisted of items identified in the appropriatesections of this report. In addition to test hardware identification, each section contains infonnation thatdescribes the associated test setup and perfonnance, and the resulting data. Qualtest measuring instrumentsused in testing were calibrated according to the requirements of ANSI!NCSL Z540-l-l994 and are NISTtraceable. Calibmtion records are on file and available for inspection by request. Because the test methods arewell established and are qualitative or semi-quantitative in nature, Qualtest does not apply measurementllllcertainty unless obligated by contract. Measured value related to the corresponding tolerance requirement isused to decide whether a test meets the requirements of the specification. Any test hardware operational setupsand resulting evaluations or inspections perfonned by the customer are not included in this report, unless theywere explicitly requested. While observations and/or specification compliance statements may be reported, nointerpretations or opinions regarding customer product perfonnance are intended. Unless otherwise indicatedin the appropriate report section, all contract obligations were met and the test objective achieved.

Test Setup: During all the EMC testing, the EDT was setup on a table with a metallic top inside shielded enclosure. All the I/O and power cables were raised from the tabletop by 5-cm spacers and routed as specified inMIL-STD-461C/462 standard. LISNs were used at the power input to provide stable impedance. TheEUT is a successive detection log video amplifier (SDLVA-61F-80 OPT. 5829387-002, TBRK), itoperates at 61.25MHz. EUT was exercised by applying a 61.25 :MHz signal from a signal generator asshown in test setup.

Test Requirement(s): This requirement is applicable to equipment and subsystem AC and DC power leads, includinggrounds and neutrals which are not grounded internally to the equipment or subsystem. Thisrequirement is not applicable within ±5 percent of the power frequency (ies). For Navyprocurements, this requirement may be deleted for AC leads, with the approval of the Commandor agency concerned, if no circuit within the equipment or system is more sensitive that 100milliVolts (mV). For equipment and subsystems procured solely for Army use, this requirementis applicable for DC leads only.

The EUT and the spike generator were connected as shown in the diagram below. The outputwaveform of the spike generator was verified using the oscilloscope. Synchronization andtriggering was used to position the spike to the specific test sample signal position to producemaximum susceptibility. Positive and negative, single and repetitive (lOpps) spikes were appliedto the EUT for the time duration as specified in STD-461/462 standard. Spikes weresynchronized to the power line frequency and posi . each 90-degree phase position for aperiod of 5 minutes.
