Planar History

FIRST WORLD: 10,000 A.D.M. (Anno Domini Machinus) As resources dwindle and the environment collapses on Earth, the Empire of Man attempts to flourish among the stars, plagued by terrifying creatures and robotic uprisings. Meanwhile, on the planet, people fight to survive in overcrowded cities teeming with superviruses, replicants, and techno-religious zealots. The first world ends when, in the midst o f a massive on-world exodus into the Cyber-world of Lifehouse, the ARC project, a fringe initiative meant to pierce t he walls of alternate Earths, takes off, releasing an apocolyptic blast of void energy, tearing the world into pieces. SECOND WORLD: SCITOPIA Doused with cosmic energy, the dwellers of the Life house cyber-realm became gods in an instant, transforming the world around them into a high-tech fantasy utopia… when they aren’t feuding with one another, or vying for more power. Of course, the candle that burns brightest burns out quickest, and, soon enough, all but a select few cities are reduced to burned out husks, leading to… THIRD WORLD: MOTHERFUCKING ASGARD As magic-less individuals toil on the land, attempting to fend off mutated Frost Giants, Dwarves, and Trolls [formerly humans, mutated by the explosion of the First World], the science-gods of Asgard stagnate in their flying city, choked with in-fighting and cosmic turmoil. Until, of course, THERE CAME A TIME WHEN THE OLD GODS DIED! FOURTH WORLD: FOURTH WORLD The saga of the Fourth World e nds when Darkseid uncovers the Anti-Life equation and remakes reality in his twisted visage. FIFTH WORLD: THE GRIMDARK OF ANTI-LIFE Imagine Apokolips, spread across an entire galaxy. The only heroes left are desperate rebels hoping to die as martyrs. Parademons sweep the skies. Cities are reduced to mud huts and rusted metal shacks. On the frontiers of space, there is only war. That is, until a test subject from the ARC project, imbued with crazy electrical reality-shifting powers, kills Darkseid, unwinding the world, and starting it from scratch. SIXTH WORLD: PLANET DAN Imagine you were a washed-out pop culture junkie from t he distant future with only the most cursory history education, tasked with remaking the universe. Sure there’d be holes, but think of all the crazy shit that would get through. Steampunk robots in the Wild West? Crazy fantasy r aces in New York? Superheroes, magic, planar travel? This is Planet Dan. [Basically a place for every alternate history, Weird West, pulp hero, and modern magic campaign to interact in the same environment.]
