"Why Traffic in jakarta always be the major problem? because everybody uses private car as their main transportation. They use private car due to lack of alternative for them from Government.

"Busway queue in rush hour is really sick! So is busway tracks that aren't sterile. Train is even more insane! Cycling in Jakarta? Really high risk!

Due to his good memory about Pesanggrahan River when he was young, he start to think what can be done to bring back the river like the old time. “

• Firstly he started to clean up the river from garbages.

• Then he influence the local people to plant productive trees

• Now he succeed not only to rehab and conserve, but also to increase economic prosperity of the local people because of the act.

Class Action : Jakarta Menggugat!!

“Even New York, one of the most crowded city in the world has much better traffic than Jakarta..”Dina Savaluna 25 F. Initiator of Jakarta Menggugat

Since 2008 I’ve had a motivation to create class action named “Jakarta Menggugat” due to Jakarta’s acute traffic.

I amplified my ideas via twitter, blog, email, and multiply

Basically, class action need minimum 40-50 participants. We had lot of applicants, unfortunately in our first day many of them didn’t come

Now, this class action is ceased. Maybe Jakartan’s anger only for acute traffic. Whereas all I have done was hearing with transportation expert and have done desk research about transportation system and urban planning

• Maybe we can apply monthly salary for the drivers so there’s no need to fight against other drivers to gain more money.

• Controlling the public transportation! Make a strict regulation for them to only stop at the stops.

• There should be an SOP for decent public transportation so there will be more people using public transportation.

How to reduce the traffic

jam?

• simple education program need to be socialized and supervised, started from the smallest community scope, district, city up to provincial scope.

• Applying personal approach to people who live on the river bank so they could be relocated easily with out any clash happen with the government.

• Jakarta's water drainage facilities should be improved

How to prevent

flooding?

There are two way of additional road, vertically or horrizontally. Vertically means adding public transportation such as underground MRT or monorail. Horizontally means widen the road.

public transportation must be punctual. So people may predict the time and not ruining their schedule. We can give the drivers reward for being punctual.

We also need to increase the quality of public transportation so people may feel comfortable using it. After the public transportation have been improved, then we can apply the new regulation for lessen the private vehicle simultaneously.

I dream Jakarta has a three layers flyover like in Bangkok, Thailand. Bangkok is the most jammed city, but it solved with the three layers flyover.

We also need to concept a clear vehicle restrictions to suppress the growth of vehicles.

We need a humanistic approach to the society for awaken them to maintain healthy environment. Do the simpe act such as dispose of waste in the right place.

Housings area are not allowed to be bussiness area.

For people who live on the bank of the river, we should do persuasive approach so they want to be relocated.

Drainage is the core solution to Jakarta’s flood. Drainage become so important because to build mass transportation like underground train, what firstly needed is flood mitigation.
