General research about the new 70 years old. Analysing data (Pordata), social and cultural context. Who are they?

W h a t k i n d o f o n l i n e interaction can i find? Do they have online groups? They don’t engage online at all? Does anyone have an online assignment about this specific population?

Explore the real world: • Go to the streets; • Go to the mall; • Go to the Market; • Go to coffee shops.

Curious about: • Where do they go and at

what time of the day; • With whom they hang

around; • With what purpose; • Finding matches between

online and offline; • Unexpected things…


Step 1 - who to view? The new retired 70 years old doing daily life outside their homes - building a visualisation map

To capture and understand their routines outside their homes. Explore the spaces they chose to go or to be. Not having a formal occupation, like a job… what do they do with their free time? Do they engage better online or offline? How and with whom?



Step 2 - where to go online? Are they online? In which way?

Um estranho por dia (www.instagram.comumestranhopordia/) - Four Portuguese photographers decided to capture the life of different strangers (one each day), telling us the story behind their lives. I found some new 70 years old there. They are online outside their homes.
