had endowed t h i s area with a p ro t e c t i v e t e r r a i n , product ive fa rmlandsand f o r e s t s and "wonder ful pure a i r and sp r ings . " Ind ian t r a i l s became

Avenue loca ted in the hea r t of th e His to r i c D i s t r i c t was once one o f
