Har ki Pauri

A visit to Haridwar without witnessing the evening aarti and taking a dip in the holy river Ganga

at Har ki Pauri is worthlsess. Har ki Pauri literally means ‘Lord’s Footsteps’. There is a large

One of the most visited and sacred Ghats in Haridwar, Vishnu Ghat is named after the Hindu

deity Lord Vishnu. It is believed that Lord Vishnu took bath at this spot and the water is said to

relieve all sins.

Mansa Devi Temple

Located at the top of Bilwa Parwat in the Shivalik range of Himalayas, Mansa Devi translates to

‘Goddess who fulfills desires’. Devotees flock to this temple to make a wish by tying a thread to

the branches of a tree situated in the premises of the temple. It is one of the most famous

Chandi Devi Temple

Situated at the top of Neel Parvat on the eastern banks of river Ganga this temple is dedicated

to Goddess Chandi (a form of goddess Durga). It is one of the most ancient temples of India and

attracts thousands of devotees during Navratras and Kumbh Mela.

Shanti Kunj

Situated at the bank of the holy Ganges and between the Shivalik ranges of the Himalayas,

Shanti Kunj is the headquarters of famous spiritual and social organization ‘All World Gayatri

Pariwar(AWGP)’. It is a place of attraction for tourists as well as seekers of spiritual guidance.

Dating to the 11th century, this temple is said to be the place where the heart and navel of

Goddess Sati had fallen. The ancient temple of Maya Devi is considered one of the Siddhapithas

and is one of few ancient temples still standing after Haridwar was plundered by The Central

Asian conqueror Timur Lang.

Sapt Rishi Ashram

The word ‘Sapt’ meaning ‘seven’, Sapt Rishi Ashram is a picturesque place where seven great

sages or Saptrishis namely Kashyapa, Vashishtha, Atri, Vishwamitra, Jamadagni, Bharadwaj and

Gautama are said to have meditated. The Ganges split herself into seven currents at this place

so that the Rishis would not be disturbed by the flow. The splendor of the Sapta Sarovar is one

Bharat Mata Mandir

This temple is dedicated to Bharat Mata (Mother India). It was inaugurated by Indira Gandhi on

15 May 1983 near river Ganges. The temple has eight stories (180 feet/55 m). Every floor

depicts a period in the Indian history, from the time of Ramayan until India's freedom.

Vaishno Devi Temple

The Vaishno Devi temple is replica of the very famous temple of Vaishno Devi in Jammu &
