SUMMARY A CONCLUSIONS
Examination of the Gold Seekers property (GSP) defined the lithology of the area and
located previously trenched areas on the west side of Gold Seekers Bay. The area was mapped
at a scale of 1:2500 and a detailed sampling programme was conducted to document lithology,
mineralization and/or alteration. All samples were analysed for gold (Au) plus nine other
elements. The highest Au values returned were 290 ppb (two samples) from the west and
northwest side of Slate Bay. The data from ground and airborne geophysical surveys conducted
during 1994 suggest that the GSP is located on the northwest flank of major northeast-southwest
structures and may be crosscut by northwest-southeast structures. However, as the majority of
the GSP is under the waters of Red Lake, this remains to be proven.
In conclusion, the 1994 work programme suggested that magnetic highs on the west side
of Gold Seekers Bay and the Slate Bay Peninsula are in response to iron formation which outcrops
in this areas. Other magnetic highs occur under the waters of Red Lake and remain possible
future drilling targets.
INTRODUCTION
The GSP is located approximately eight kilometres north of the town of Red Lake, Ontario
(Fig. 1). The 16 contiguous claims, consisting of 72 16-hectare claim units, were staked between
November 1993 and August 1994. During the spring of 1994 approximately 100 km of line were
cut. The lines are cut at 100m spacing tied to a base line with an azimuth of 45 0 true north.
Between June 17, 1994 and July 14, 1994 an exploration programme under the direction of
Reginald P. Seyler (P.O. Box 158, Balmertown, Ontario, POV ICO) was conducted on the GSP

LOCATION AND ACCESS
The GSP lies approximately 8 km north of the town of Red Lake, Ontario between
latitudes 51 005'24" and 51 007'58", and longitudes 93 046'56" and 93 053'48". Depending upon
the season, the property is accessible by either snowmobile or boat from the town of Red Lake.
PREVIOUS WORK
During 1936, Gold Seekers Mines held 14 surveyed claims just west of Post Narrows in
the south central pan of McDonough Township. The company carried out a campaign of
stripping, trenching and test-pitting (Horwood, 1940). Visible gold was reported in a small quartz
vein, and samples across widths of 0.30 and 0.60 metres (12 and 24 inches) assayed as high as
81.60 g/t (2.38 oz/ton) gold (Horwood. 1940). In 1936, Luxor Explorations Inc. began work on
several claims on the southern shore of Slate Bay. They carried out an extensive exploration
programme which included mapping, trenching and diamond drilling between 1936 and 1981.
A number of gold values were returned including 7.89 g/t (0.23 oz/ton) over 4.5 meters (15 feet).
In 1978, the Ontario Geological Survey (OGS) carried out an airborne magnetic and
INPUT survey for the Gold Seekers Bay area (OGS map P1572). In 1981, Gold Fields Resources
conducted ground magnetometer and VLF surveys in the Gold Seekers Bay area, including the
peninsula separating Post Narrows and Gold Seekers Bay (Annan and Boyd, 1981). Several VLF
conductors were identified which appear to reflect the structure of the area. In 1982, Bluestack
Resources initiated basal till geochemistry, ground magnetometer. HLEM and diamond drilling
programmes in the Gold Seekers and Slate Bay areas (Patterson, 1983). In 1984, Bluestack
Resources entered into a joint venture with Luxor Explorations Inc.. Magnetometer and EM
surveys were performed, surface work was completed and six holes were drilled. Gold
intersections of interest were: 3.43 and 4.11 g/t over 1.0 metre (0.10 and 0.12 oz/ton); 4.46 g/t
over 0.67 meters (0.13 oz/ton over 2.2 feet); and, 7.54 g/t over 1.0 meters (0.22 oz/ton over 2.0
feet). In 1987. Luxor Explorations Inc. conducted a backhoe trenching programme on the Slate
Bay Peninsula (west shore of Gold Seekers Bay) to investigate E.M. and magnetic anomalies
-6-
(Pegg, 1987). Six trenches and several pits were dug; bedrock consists of marble, calcareous tuffs
and shales, and narrow bands of greywacke and iron formation. Chip samples across the trenches
returned low gold values.
In 1994, TechTerrex Inc. performed a detailed ground magnetometer survey over the GSP
(Wilson, 1994) and noted magnetic highs on the west side of Gold Seekers Bay and the Slate Bay
Peninsula, and under Post Narrows. The magnetic low under the waters of Gold Seekers Bay is
possibly in response to intermediate/felsic intrusive rocks (diorite &L granodiorite) which outcrop
between 33+OON and 46+OON.
GENERAL GEOLOGY
The GSP is located in the north-central pan of the Red Lake Greenstone Belt in the
western portion of the Uchi Subprovince, a tabular, east-west trending series of metavolcanics and
lesser metasedimentary rocks (Stott and Corfu, 1991; Fig. 1). The belt is comprised of three
distinct sequences (Gulson et al., 1 993): a lower sequence of mainly tholeiitic and komatiitic
volcanic rocks formed between 2800 and 3000 Ma; a middle sequence comprised of felsic to
intermediate pyroclastic rocks, dated at 2830 Ma; and, an upper sequence of tholeiitic volcanics
dated around 2740 to 2760 Ma and younger calc-alkaline rocks with an age of 2730 to 2740 Ma
(Corfu and Andrews, 1987).
PROPERTY GEOLOGY
The GSP is underlain predominantly by sedimentary and volcanic rocks, with isolated
occurrences of ultramafic to felsic intrusives. These rocks, as defined by Andrews et al. ( 1986),
have been metamorphosed within the greenschist facies.
The sedimentary rock package consists of argillite, greywacke, conglomerate, siltstone
and iron formation. This rock assemblage, categorized as the uppermost part of the Bruce
Channel assemblage, highlights the tight folding of the Balmer and Bruce Channel assemblages
-7-
in the eastern pan of the belt (Stott and Corfu, 1991). These sedimentary rocks can be seen in
the extreme northern area of the property from Post Narrows through to the west side of Slate
Bay, with a general foliation direction of northeast-southwest (see Dwgs. la, b and c). Granite
and granodiorite occur locally in the sedimentary rocks. Sulphide mineralization within the
sedimentary rocks consists of disseminated pyrite, pyrrhotite and minor arsenopyrite. Minor
carbonate alteration is also present.
Mafic flows occur predominantly in the Post Narrows and Slate Bay areas. The foliations
seen measure approximately 0400 and dip steeply to the northwest. Within this mafic unit are
isolated exposures of mafic intrusive rocks (gabbro and diorite) and intermediate to felsic volcanic
rocks (flow, tuff and lapilli tuff). Sulphide mineralization consists of disseminated pyrite and
pyrrhotite; carbonate alteration occurs locally within the mafic flow units. This mafic unit
correlates with the Balmer assemblage, represented by basaltic tholeiites and komatiite lava flows
with interbedded magnetite-quartz iron formation and rhyolitic pyroclastic breccia to fine grained
tuffs (Stott and Corfu, 1991). Isolated outcrops of ultramafic intrusive occur on the Slate Bay
Peninsula and have a general east-west trend. A summary of the rock types encountered is shown
in Table 2:

ROCK GEOCHEMISTRY
A total of 225 rock samples were collected from the GSP; sample descriptions are given
in Appendix I. Of these, 204 were sent to Chemex Labs in Toronto, Ontario and analysed for Au
plus nine elements, and 21 were sent to the Placer Dome Research Lab in Vancouver, British
Columbia and analysed for Au plus 27 elements; 13 samples returned gold values of 10 ppb or
greater. Two anomalous gold values greater than 100 ppb were returned; samples E50896 and
E58277 were collected from argillite, the latter also containing an appreciable amount of
interbedded greywacke. Table 3 lists some of the anomalous Au geochemistry results; a complete
list of the geochemistry results is given in Appendix II.

RECOMMENDATION
Based on the 1994 work, high magnetic anomalies on the Slate Bay Peninsula and to the
west of Gold Seekers Bay are likely in response to iron formation which outcrops in these areas.
Magnetic anomalies under the waters of Red Lake are possibly due to iron formation (highs) and
felsic intrusives (lows); this should be tested by future diamond drilling. However, no further
work is recommended at this time.
