About the Institute
Rajkiya Engineering College, Banda is a TEQIP-III (World Bank Project) sponsored UP State Government Institute. It was established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in the year 2010 with three branches i.e. Electrical Engineering, Mechan-ical Engineering, and Information Technology with annual intake of Sixty (60) in each branch. The college is affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow and approved by AICTE. The college has moved to its own fully residential campus located at Atarra, Banda in the month of July 2015 and all academic activities from the session 2015-16 are being carried out at its own campus. Fully residential campus of the college consists of Academic Building, Work-shop, Five Hostels (Boys and Girls), Residential Apartments, Student Activity Centre, College Canteen, Grocery Store and other facilities for recreation.
All infrastructure as per the norms of AICTE has been developed at the campus to commence studies in three branches of engineering (IT, ME and EE) w.e.f. session 2015-16. State-of-the-art infrastructure for various offices in the college, such as, Director, Registrar, Accounts, Controller of Examination, Dean Academic, Dean of Student Welfare, Institute Innovation Cell, Training and Placement Cell, Head of the Departments, Faculty Members and other academic offices exists at the college. Enthusiastic with its growth and development, AKTU Lucknow has allotted Ten Crore to the Institute under prestigious DDUQIP scheme.

Infrastructure
REC’s Awe-inspiring infrastructure provides the students with an excellent environment to pursue their academic passion and for outstanding academic delivery. The campus span more than 15 acres comprising lush green lawns dotted with hi-tech laboratories and modern buildings. The campus offers a fusion of environment, resources and support to maximize the quality of the student learning experience.
The spacious lecture halls, Smart Class Rooms (SCRs), Virtual Class Rooms (VCRs), Conference Halls, Auditorium, Meeting rooms are well equipped with all latest gazettes, viz; elec-tronic podiums, ceiling mounted LCD Projectors, OHPs and other Audio-Visual equipments providing environment con-ducive for teaching and learning. REC, Banda, takes pride in its advanced and state-of-the-art laboratories which assist the students to supplement theoretical knowledge with practical skills.
The Library boasts of a mammoth collection of more than 5000 books, magazines and journals. Book bank facility is also provided to each and every student. The students and faculty also have access to the IEEE digital library and “DELNET” through which they can access more than 400 International Journals and Periodicals. We offer separate ac-commodations for boys & girls amidst an environment that stimulates learning and provides ample scope for recreation. Also services like cafeteria, gymnasium, Wi-Fi, Student Ac-tivity Center, Bank ATM, create vibrant environment in our campus, thus making it a “Home Away From Home” for the students past.

Academics
It is mandatory for all students to take up projects under supervision of faculty members. These comprise the basic development of application oriented research projects. Students are also encouraged to publish papers in peer reviewed national and international conferences and journals.
Dr. Ashutosh Tiwari (Registrar) got a Project worth Rs. 18.30 Lakh titled “Prevention of Thermal Damage to Turbine Blade” approved by the Science and Engineering Research Board for funding under Teachers Associate-ship for Research Excellence (TARE).
Dr. Shraddha Mishra (Faculty) is serving as inspire faculty at IIT Kanpur on behalf of Department of Scienceand Technology (DST), Government of India.Mr. Pradeep Kumar Verma, Mr. Anil Kumar Chaudhary, are pursuing their Ph.D in Enviromental Engineer-ing at REC Banda under Homi Bhabha Research Cum Teaching Fellowship.
Mr Anil Kumar Chaudhary is pursuing research in Enviromental Science and Engineering at REC Banda funded by TEQIP III at REC Banda.
Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Assistant Professor, Physicsat Rajkiya Engineering College Banda has been awarded DST SERB sponsored “Studies on Flexible,Quasi-Solid-State Super capacitor using Catholyteand Anolyte Redox Additive in Polymeric Electrolyteswith Large Surface Area Carbon Electrodes” under Start-up Research Grant (SRG) for approx. Rs. 18.0 Lakhs. Another feather in the cap of REC Banda .
The institute admits students for it’s Bachelor in Technology (B.Tech.) programme from all over In-dia through the competitive Common Entrance Test UPSEE. Seat are filled by UPSEE counselling.

Life at REC Banda
Life at REC Banda can be described as an amalgamation of technology, nature, serenity and modernity situated beside the busy NH-35. When one enters the green campus of REC, one can instantly feel that he has left his mundane, hassled life be-hind. The serene environment, the picturesque campus, the aesthetic beauty is unique to Banda and provides a perfect blend of natural and artificial ecosystem for the students to nurture their technical and interpersonal skills.
REC Banda follows the motto, “Gyanam Paramam Dhyeyam”, i.e, Knowledge is the supreme goal. Students come here from different corners of the country, each one having different ex-plored and unexplored talents. At REC, we help students to identify themselves in multiple dimensions.
The Institute not only aims at fulfilling their hunger for knowl-edge and excellence but also it aims at grooming each student to a level where they are not just technical geeks but confident individuals who can be the forerunners in deciding the future of any organization they become a part of.
Academics form just one facet of the life at REC. We encourage the students to nurture their lives outside classrooms as well. The Department of Applied Science and Humanities is func-tioning since its inception with a mission of imparting teaching and promoting implementation of practical aspects of Applied Science and Humanities to build a solid foundation as a part of the Engineering education. The department teaches the subjects of Chemistry, English, Mathematics, Physics and Environment etc. in the B.Tech. programs. The Department has experienced faculty members having Ph.D degrees with a number of research papers published in various national and international journals.

Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at REC Banda. We started our journey in the year of 2010. Over the last eight years, we have grown our expertise and competence in the core .Mechanical Engineering curriculum and research. We have a strong undergraduate program in mechanical engineering. The sanctioned student intake of B.Tech. is 60 per year.Department offers science-based engineering curriculum. The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical know how to students, promote their problem solving skills andinnovation of new technologies. The department emphasizes the use of learning tools for theacquisition of knowledge and skills. Role-play, case study, project work, practical exposure, assignments, quizzes, seminars, industrial visits are some of the methods used for teaching-learning process. The curriculum provides not only technical knowledge, but also the exposure to recent technologies.
An undergraduate program in Information Technology was initi-ated in the year 2010 with a sanctioned intake of 60 students. We give exposure of current trends in IT to our students by invit-ing experts from the industry. Activities, beyond the curriculum, are conducted for better employability of students in academia, government, research, industry, engineering and management positions. Various technical and non-technical forums provide an exposure to engineering concepts and technology.

Placement Procedure
• The Training and Placement Cell (the formal point of contact for placements at REC Banda) sends invi-tations to companies/ organizations via email, tele-phone calls and faxes along with relevant information.
• On receiving their reply they are sent a copy of Job Announcement Form (JAF) through email, in which in-formation related to job description, job profile, place of posting etc. is enquired.This has to be sent back to us in 10-15 days in advance and clearly citing all the requirements.
• The JAF is made available online to the students, along with any other information furnished by com-pany.
• Placement Office allots dates for recruitment proce-dure considering certain factors like students pref-erences, company preferences, job profile, etc. The placement cell scrutinizes the JAF and arrangements are made to meet their requirements . Organization visit the campus on the alloted dates and conduct test.
• Interested and eligible (as per the criteria specified by the organisations) students show their willingness to appear for the recruitment process of a company by signing its JAF online. Organisations can view re-sumes of interested students and shortlist students using their online account.
• The company/organization is required to furnish the final list of students in a sealed envelope at the end of their assigned interview slot. The organisations are also encouraged to maintain a waitlist of students in case of non-availability of selected students.

“World Free From Horns” is a project selected through iCreate (autonomous institute) under Nidhi Prayas Scheme of Gujarat Government. It is a project to develop a system that would minimise the amount of noise produced fromevery vehicle.Initially, fund of Rs. 50,000 is alloted to build the prototype of the project.

The 24th edition of Dr. Kalam Start-up Parikrama(an intiative of K-CIIS, AKTU Lucknow ) washeld at REC Banda. The First, Second and Third positions were secured by teams of REC Banda and winning prizes worth Rs. 10,000, Rs.5000 & Rs. 3000 respectively. The teams got facilitation at NDMC Convention Center, New Delhi.
Akade embedded technologies is LLP company, a Start-up founded by Deepak Singh (IT batch 2018) and Akansha Rani of (EE batch 2018), which deal in the manufacturing of embedded technologies products and also commissioning of the product to the industrial sector as well as to the non-industrial sector. IIC REC Banda Organizes HackTech’19 (National Level Code Hackathon) a non-stop 24 hours product develop-ment competition on Smart Campus & Agro-Tech themes.More than 60 teams across the country participated inwhich the first prize(worth Rs. 15,000) under Smart Campus theme and second prize (worth Rs. 10,000) under Agro-Tech theme won by teams from REC Banda.It was the first ever National Level Hackathon organized by any state govern-ment funded institiute in Uttar Pradesh.
Yukta Mukhi of Electrical Engineering (final year) won the Gold medal in carrom freestyle (girls) at SPARDHA’19 (Sports fest of IIT BHU) and also she was awarded as the best player in Carrom (girls).Rishabh Dev Narayan of Information Technology (final year) won the Bronze medal in carrom freestyle (boys)

Muktakash, the annual Literary fest of REC Banda with a motto of grooming overall personality of students. This fest provide a very good platform to students to showcase their literary and artistic talents. Some of the events include Vakalatnama, Wall painting, Treasure hunt, Adhuri Kahani and many more.
REC Banda provides an environment that nurtures leaders in addition to sound engineers. Not withstanding the tight aca-demic schedule that students have, they manage to indulge in various extra-curricular activities. A host of activities ranging from inter-hostel competitions and national level festivals to managing facilities like messing and hostel infrastructure are entirely managed by students. These activities provide mul-titude of holistic improvement platforms for students to hone their technical and managerial skills, which are imperative for one to excel in his/her workplace.
Reverb, the annual cultural festival of REC Banda, held in March every year. It is two day fest, providing unique oppur-tunity to the youth for showcasing their talents in front of extremely large audiences and top-notch judges. The whole event is completely organised and executed by the student community of REC Banda.

With the advancement of today’s technology towards automa-tion, we have here Robotics club focussed on developing skills in students and providing resources to implement their inno-vative ideas ultimatately developing robots. The club offers indispensible guidance, workshops and tutorials along with tools, equipments, components and workspace .
Students at REC Banda actively take part in social ser-vice having a philanthropic attitude to learn and serve the society as well. Prayas-Ek Pahal, the social initiative club is run and managed by the students community. Educating poor children in the local area and their overall development is our motto. Our students teach the poor children of the locality beside this donation, medical care, health awareness, etc is a routine affair of the organization.
With association to IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur and IIT Delhi here we have Virtual lab club which focusses on training students to develop good quality virtual labs to benefit the students deprived of good laboratory infrastructure, to avail thesame virtually from anywhere.
Developer Club, mainly focussed on building a community of soulful passionate developers and also provinding them plat-form to showcase their coding efficiency and competence.This club is the outcome of students initiatives to develop skills in fields like competative-coding, Web Development, Graphics Designing, Cloud-computing, Data Science and many more career oriented areas.

Society of Automotive Engineers, Here we have a group of enthusiastic students who are young innovators, aim to de-sign and fabricate an open wheel formula student style racing car. It is open for all the branches , providing them a platform to apply their classroom concepts practically. This club is fully operated and managed by the student community of REC Banda.
Under the direct supervision of MHRD, Government of India,Institution’s Innovation Council was established in the year 2018 comprising of more than 20 students members and two faculty memebers. Majorly focussed on developing entrepreneurship skills in students so to curve out their innovative ideas into successful startups.

The Khajuraho group of monuments is a group of Hindu and Jain temples in Chhatarpur district Mad-hya Pradesh , India. The temples are famous for their nagara-style architectural symbolism and their erotic sculptures a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are located about 135 kms away.
The Kalinjar Fort is a ruined citadel and a great historical fort of Bundelkhand, located just 45 kms away. The fort and its adjoining environs consist of temples, sculptures, inscriptions and caves.
Deendayal Research Institute (DRI), Chitrakoot is an integrated and holistic model for the development of rural India, based on the principles outlined in Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya’s “Inte-gral Humanism” to create a society based on the complimentarity of the family.
