ICT

PIONEER

DAIICT is a forerunner in the field of ICT.

This fundamental innovation, combining

Electronics and Communication

Engineering (ECE) and Computer

Sciences and Engineering (CSE), was

embedded in the large matrix of

interdisciplinary subjects including

Design, Science and Management, Film

and Animation along with the

traditional Humanities and Social

Sciences. This vision, we are proud to

say, is an amalgamation of Liberal Arts

and an engineering institute. It

visualizes the student as a professional

and as a citizen dealing with

knowledge systems at large but with

core competence in ICT. The curriculum

designed by eminent faculty very well

exemplifies the convergence of skills

required by ICT. Research and

Development is the most important

component of the education system,

which puts the institute at par with

many other reputed institutes in the

world. Projects, which are aimed at

providing practical knowledge and

experience, form an integral

component of the education system.

The curriculum is designed to produce

competent and confident professionals

with knowledge and expertise to meet

the needs of the present and the future

world.

the program. This singular inter disciplinary structure ensures

that the student has the required knowledge of working at

the systems level as well as a good grasp of the subject at

the fundamental level. Electives form a bulk of the courses in

the third and fourth year, which gives the student the

freedom to delve deeper and acquire proficiency in

specific subareas of his choice. Core electives differentiate

between students of core Information Technology, core

Electronics and core Communication fields. Science

electives are offered in the domain of Mathematics and

Engineering Sciences, and Technical electives cover

courses from Information and Communication Technology.

Apart from this, open electives in Humanities, Social Science,

Management and Engineering Arts including Design ensure

that the students are equally adept in the understanding of

theoretical foundations, practical applications and the

social and cultural context related to the technology they

are studying. Projects, aimed at providing a practical

knowledge to the students, form an important part of

their education.

The four year undergraduate program

leading to the degree of Bachelor of

Technology in Information and

Communication Technology B. Tech(ICT)

offered by DAIICT aims to create a new

class of engineers in ICT, who will be

committed to a vision of excellence both

as individuals and citizens. “ICT” in itself is a

unique convergence of Computer,

Electronics and Communication fields. From

the very first semester, the student is

exposed to technological courses, giving

him the required background to pursue

him/her field of interest in the later part of

Page 28: PLACEMENT BROCHURE - Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of ...placement.daiict.ac.in/...Placement_Brochure...15.pdf · PLACEMENT BROCHURE Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication

A student having a job oer is allowed only once to upgrade his/her oer to a higher category job oer or

internship plus job oer or only internship oer and if he/she gets that oer, would be out of the placement

process. A student having an internship plus job oer is allowed only once to upgrade his/her oer to

a higher category job oer or an internship plus job oer and if he/she gets that oer, would be out of the

placement process. A student having an internship oer is allowed only once to upgrade his/her oer to a

higher category job oer or an internship plus job oer and if he/she gets the that oer, would be

out of the placement process.

OFFER A JOB

1. The company shall provide the oer letters to the Placement Oce and not directly to the students.

2. When the Placement Oce receives an oer letter from a company for a student, it shall communicate the

same to her/him.

3. A time period will be declared where students have to inform the Placement Oce regarding his/her

decision on the oer. If he/she fails to do so, it shall be assumed that the oer has been rejected by him/her.

4. A student having a ‘Dream’ category oer, is considered to be out of the campus placement process.

5. When a student receives a second oer, i.e. in the case of upgradation, from ‘Reg ular’ to ‘Niche’ / ‘Dream’

or ‘Niche’ to ‘Dream’ categories, then the previous oer automatically stands rejected.

6. The purview of the Placement Oce is restricted only to the oers made as part of the campus placement

process.

7. Students can upgrade only once, hence if a student has upgraded from Regular to Niche category then

he/she cannot upgrade further to Dream category and they are out from the placement process.

REJECTION OF AN OFFER

1. If a student participates in the placement process of a company, then he/she cannot leave it in between.

If such a case arises, then it will be deemed as rejection of the oer.

2. A student can upgrade only once by rejecting regular/niche category oer. If a student rejects a ‘Dream’

category company, then he/she is considered as not interested in the placement process.

3. Student can only reject one oer at maximum, if they reject the second oer than he/she becomes

ineligible for the placement process.

4. On upgrading to a higher category company, the previous oer stands rejected.

5. If a student does not inform the Placement Oce regarding his/her decision on acceptance of an oer

within the declared time period, then it will be deemed as rejection of the oer

SUMMER INTERNSHIP OFFER

The following policy is only for summer internship that is oered to students for a period of six to eight

weeks after the third year.

1. If a student participates in the internship process of a company, then he/she cannot leave it in between.

If such a case arises, then it will be considered the student is not interested in the internship process and

won’t be allowed to sit for further companies oering summer internship.

2. If the student participates in the internship process of a company and gets an internship oer he cannot

reject it or leave the internship mid way. It is mandatory for the student to accept the oer and work for the

stipulated time or else he/she would not be allowed to appear for the placement process also.

3. All the companies oering summer internships would fall under the same category and no upgradation

of the oers are allowed.

4. If the internship oer gets converted into a pre-placement oer(PPO) and the company oering the PPO

lies in the dream category then it is considered a job oer and the student is not allowed to appear for the

placement process.

5. If the internship oer gets converted into a pre-placement oer(PPO) and the company

oering the PPO lies in the niche/regular category then it is considered a job oer and the

student still has one upgrade available like in normal placement.24

Aakash Shah

Project Manager, Evosys

DAIICT provides an amazing platform upon which you can build your

career. It gives the freedom to choose your own path, the guidance to

walk upon it and opportunities to realise your destination. I will

recognise the two years spent at the amazing campus, amongst the

esteem faculties as the most significant years of my life. The learnings

imparted during those two years have helped me achieve my goals and

i am sure they will continue to do so in the years to come

Aditya Basu

Developer, Media.net

The undergraduate curriculum is completely based on a hands on

approach, which requires students to complete multiple projects every

semester. This coupled with the excellent internship opportunities available

via the campus, has helped me become a seasoned engineer. The

inter-disciplinary nature of courses has also given me the ability to better

appreciate and tackle real life problems in a much more holistic and

practical way.

Ishani Parekh

Google, Mountain view

First of all, the course ICT gave me a good chance to understand my

field of interest. I got a chance to study under really dedicated and

friendly professors. Talented peers and seniors were an important source

of information and made my engineering years all the more interesting

and full of good memories.

Nivesh Ray

Software Engineer, Infosys

DAIICT is one of the best educational institute in the country which offers

best faculty, wide variety of courses and electives, excellent learning

environment and an exciting place to be a part of. All four years of mine

have been a great learning experience whose memories will remain with me

forever.

and pursue their career. The freedom given here in this regard is truly

unrivaled.

Raagi Sukhlecha

Developer, Amazon

Undergraduate education at DAIICT was the best part of my life and I feel

fortunate to be a part of this institute for it helped me develop myself, both

technically and personally. Highly qualified faculty and flexible curriculum

which offers a unique amalgam of technical and humanities courses along

with the vibrant campus life helped us to become socially aware

technologists prepared both for industrial and research domain . The small

student community size ensured close interaction with faculty, making

education interesting. I am sure that the technical and so skills developed

here will help students to excel wherever they go

Sharmila Jampani

Oracle private LTD.

Doing Master's at DAIICT was a great experience. Working with eminent

professors and engineers in the VLSI industry instilled in me the practical

knowledge that is needed to grow up in my career. It's not what you

learn, it's how you learn. That is what you get at DAIICT. All in all, a

beautiful campus with lush greenery where one can enjoy, learn and

experiment.

Swarnim Vyas

Deloitte

The four years of my under graduation at DAIICT have been the most

learning years of my life. The institute provides an excellent platform and

ample exposure for students to explore themselves, aspire bigger and

challenge their limits. The unique ICT curriculum, highly qualified and friendly

faculty, blend of technical and humanity courses together make atmosphere

conducive to student's overall growth. The small sized, very active and

diverse student community leads to interactions with huge variety of people

and those interactions today form a major part of my learning. One just

discovers himself/herself by getting lost in woods of the campus. I am sure

that exemplary technical and soft skills developed here help individuals

ace in all their future endeavors.
