On an average more than 50 lakh students graduate every year in India with a three, four or five years degree after 12th standard from all streams. More than 75% of these students enter the job market and nearly 47 percent graduates are unemployable. Employability requires the candidate to possess both job related and generic skills. However, there are gaps in both areas.

What is required is a learning ecosystem where the students• Not only learn the concepts but also get to apply them in the workplace context• Build on their generic skills by immersing themselves in situations where they get to observe them being demonstrated as well as emulate them.

Benefit to the IndustryThe industry is in continual state of change with so many new technologies and ideologies coming up. It is really necessary for them to identify new talent pools in order to remain relevant. Fresh graduates just out of college are moulded much easily, with support from academic mentors, into developing skills that will go a long way in creating greater value for the industry.

Objective of Structured InternshipA recurring theme in the realm of educational reform and innovation has been that of linking University education with Industry, to develop professional competency in an individual.

Industry interface meets the rapidly changing needs and challenges of a professional work place. This practice enables students to acquire professional and domain skills by applying the knowledge they possess, in unfamiliar, open ended real life situations.

The objectives are achieved by bringing the reality of the world of work in the process of education. It creates the required setting for experimental and cooperative learning and education by having students work on relevant assignments. The academic mentor, according to the requirements of the employer, can identify the required skills and help the students achieve them. Consequently, Industry interface serves a platform that facilitates and promotes partnership & intellectual exchange between academia and industry.

Benefits to StudentsThe industry interface component of learning at the BSE Institute is designed to bridge the gap between the classroom environment and the corporate world. Our experienced academic mentors are readily available to bring out the specific skill set in students, as required by the industry.

This provides the students• An opportunity to undergo the rigor of professional environment, both in form and in substance• An opportunity for the students to satisfy their inquisitiveness about the corporate world• An opportunity to students for developing and practicing professional skill and also help them acquire social skills by being in constant interaction with the professionals of an organization• An opportunity to link what he/she has studied in the classroom and what is being practiced in Industry• This also serves to hone their problem solving skills• It also builds team spirit, initiative and leadership skills which will make the eventual transition to the professional world smoother and better• It is a 3600 impact between Students-Academia Industry and overall personality development of students• Industrial exposure with hands on training gives extra impetus to students• The quality of output determine students career advancement

The ProcessAfter a brief orientation in the assigned organization, the students are involved directly in addressing the predefined problems of the host organization.

The students are encouraged to work independently, under the technical guidance of a professional expert of the organization and the general guidance of faculty.

Students are periodically required to explain the technical aspects of their work through written and oral presentation.

Emphasis is laid on the importance of team work, developing leadership qualities & on the need for effective time management.

India has been making a notable mark in the Global economy in the past few years, with almost exponential growth in the last two decades. The current budget has facilitated great opportunitites for the economy and the future looks much brighter. Keeping in line with a strong vision to create a platform for genuine intellectual excitement and cutting-edge research, and also continue glorious tradition of the trendsetter - BSE Ltd., it is our pleasure to introduce PGP-Global Financial Markets specialising in Fin-Tech wherein many of the world leading experts in their fields have joined amongst other courses.

Every market player in today’s international marketplace - investor, brokers, traders, employees of the banking or insurance industries, including compliance professionals - must not only know the fundamentals of products and markets they trade in, but also understand the economies that drive markets and the mathematics that explain it. If we look at the future, say 50 years, complex market models might come into existence. These models might be more accurate than the present ones. However, the incremental value additions from here to then in model creation industry for capital markets may still keep out a large delta that will continue to provide employment opportunities even 50 years from now. But the upcoming generation will need to have improved skills and professional training. A number of industry experts that I am personally in touch with believe, and rightly so, that an entry level employee has to be trained extensively before they can start to be of any productive value. Our conventional education, sadly, is still a notch behind in providing the youth with necessary tools for the industry. We, as a result, are bound to try and provide a unique education so that upcoming batches of young blood develop the necessary professional and domain skills and create greater value in the industry.

Global financial markets work on three key principles: Transaction processing and price signalling, need for corporate governance and need for capital & new instruments. Currently, more than 50% Indians are below age 25. On the other hand, less than 1.5% of Indian population has invested in capital markets. This highlights the immense potential our financial markets hold for coming generations. As new markets open up internationally, the need to understand financial markets from a complex global perspective rises further.

BSE Institute Ltd. programmes come with the motive to provide students with a holistic educational experience that can be directly applied to the financial services industry. With the support of industry professionals, students have the opportunity to directly apply learned ideas, theories, tools in practicality and engage with the market at an unprecedented level.

I am sure that you will find our students among the best in the country, to take the challenge of the finance industry. Our students are well equipped, confident, flexible, hard working, intelligent, problem solvers who will definitely be an asset to the industry.

We at the BSE Institute Ltd. are engaged in a continuous process of developing capable, responsible and thoughtful leaders that add value to their organisations and communities. Meticulously developed and subjected to rigorous debates regarding input from industry professionals, this process has undergone significant changes over the years-the main aim being to align our students with the dynamism of global financial markets and institutions.

Considering the abundance of opportunities in the current context, I can assure you that while trading will continue to be an integral part of capital markets, so will investing. Global financial markets will be essential to the infrastructural development of India, not only in making it a Global Power, but also a leader in the services and manufacturing industry. Access to markets is now more readily available than ever before. However, these complex dimensions require the market participants to possess a highly sophisticated understanding of financial risks, as well as the tools used to handle them.

Such stimulating market conditions, we believe, call for a specialized program that grooms our students to tackle the complex dynamics of it. This has encouraged us to launch various programs such as the Post Graduate Program in Global Financial Markets-FinTech (PGP-GFM) amongst a host of others. These programs, having been designed and delivered by some of the best industry professionals, provide an unprecedented opportunity for students to learn comprehensive, contemporary financial thinking and techniques. Further, our use of the latest skills such as Algorithmic Trading, Cybersecurity and FinTech applications allow us to incorporate industry ‘best practices’ within the learning experience. Post completion of the program, students are placed in internships which help them gain specialized knowledge according to their natural inclinations, while also providing a fantastic platform for future prospects in an ever more competitive job market.

We are confident that students who pass out of this program are well equipped with the intellectual ability to examine and analyse the corporate world from competing perspectives. This will also give rise to an in-depth organizational understand-ing of factors impacting its functioning. With the aim of satisfying the demand for an effective knowledge pool in today’s market, the BSE Institute Ltd. is committed to creating effective leaders, who uphold the highest standards of ethics and corporate governance. With an assurance to this commitment of quality and a productive recruitment experience, I hereby invite recruiting organizations to come and find the best of talent that the industry has to offer at the BSE Institute Ltd.
