DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

VISION Our aim is to provide a program of high quality to produce creative technocrats and also establish an

excellent R & D Centre to pursue research in the frontier areas of Electronics and Communication

Engineering.

MISSION To emerge as a centre of excellence in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering, the

graduates able to produce innovative solutions to the needs of the society, cognizant to the universal moral

values, and adherent to the professional ethics.

DEPARTMENTAL ASSOCIATIONTECHNOMENTORS: The Departmental Association

formed in 2010 by ECE Department, Objectives of the Association is to increase the knowledge base and skills

of students and faculties. The department Association organizes workshops, seminars, technical talks by

experts in academic as well as industry.

INDUSTRY INTERACTION: The students carryout their Final year project works in reputed organizations like IISc, NAL, HAL, ISRO,

BEL, BHEL, WIPRO, LRDE, DRDO, BOSCH etc. The department has been organizing industry visit to

prestigious organization viz... IISc, BHEL & BEL. The department organizes guest lecturers from

Industrial experts on recent technological trends such that the staff and students can get an exposure to

them.

CREATIVE PRACTICES IN DEPARTMENT:

Organizing seminars, workshops, conferences and various clubs for the student committee and faculties.

Compulsory Orientation Program for newly recruited faculty members conducted by senior faculty members and outside experts.

Code of conduct for students and faculty members, including professional ethics and social responsibilities.

Feedback on the performance of faculty members from students and senior faculty members (who attend some of the lectures as an observer).

Introduction of teacher guardian system wherein the teacher monitors the progress of the student in studies and extracurricular activities and provides

necessary counseling and support.

Identification of deficiencies of each student in time to time semester, course wise and providing additional input by the way of conducting extra

classes and courses along with the soft-skill training program for placement assistance. To motivate the students develop themselves for the new

challenges in their career.

Department of Mechanical Engineering Mission:

Mechanical engineering department is committed to be the best department at the university

level by emphasizing on fundamentals, advances in technologies, problem solving, creative

& software skills by bringing out quality engineers, researchers, resource persons and

entrepreneurs for entry into the profession, graduate education and life-long learning and to

function as productive, social, moral and ethical professionals in the society.

Departmental Association

Department association called “VIBRAZONE” was formed in the year 2010. In order to provide a platform for the students & faculty to present and

share their ideas, thoughts and findings and to conduct expert lectures, seminars, workshops, symposiums, conferences etc. This also aims in bringing

pioneers in mechanical engineering from academia, industry, R&D, etc. So as to ignite the young engineering minds to drive them towards the

excellence in Mechanical Engineering Science and Technology.

Infrastructure: Then department of well equipped with sate of art class rooms for both UG & PG Courses.

There are 13 Laboratories in the Department to provide hands on training and individual care to the students of Mechanical Engineering under UG &

PG Programs.

Research & Development Lab: To provide facilities for carrying out project work, Research & Developmental work by both students and faculty

members.

Department Library is a part of department and has around 500 volumes of Books that is circulated among students and faculty members.

EDUSAT, NPTEL Program are also implicated with the ongoing UG & PG Courses.

Industry Interaction: Department interacts with industries by inviting the experts for the industries to give seminars to the students

and also conducting industrial visits to various companies and helping students to understand the working

culture.

VISION

“To emerge as a leading department in the field of Computer Science and Engineering in

the state of Karnataka by 2018”

MISSION The department of CSE will create high quality professionals in Computer Science &

Engineering and to foster leading edge research and to equip students to succeed and

contribute to industry and society.

Courses Offered

UG Program : B.E. in Computer Science Engineering (4 yrs Course)

PG Program : M.Tech in Computer Science Engineering (2 yrs Course)

: M.Tech in Computer Network Engineering (2 yrs Course)

INFRASTRUCTURE

The department has seven laboratories with a total area of about 1200 Sqm. Basic laboratories comprise with 150 computer terminals connected to

windows 2003/Linux servers. Electronic circuits & logic design laboratory, Microprocessor laboratory, Computer Networks, Java laboratories, DBMS,

System Software & Operating System, Data Structures and Design and Analysis of Algorithms laboratories and PG lab. It has enough systems Pentium-

IV with necessary software like Oracle 10g, PSpice software to conduct LD lab. All the necessary software required for regular laboratory work, project

work and research work are available in the department. 16Mbps leased line connectivity is available for internet usage with Wi-Fi too.


INDUSTRY INTERACTION

The students are doing project works in reputed organizations like iViZ Techno Solutions Pvt. Ltd, HAL, ISRO, WIPRO, LRDE, DRDO etc. The

department organizes guest lecturers from Industrial persons on recent trends such that the staff and student get an exposure to them.

Strength of the Department

As technology develops in leaps and bounds, the opportunities for expanding the field of computing grow even more rapidly. The Computer Science

& Engineering Course gives a sound grounding in the fundamentals of computing and an understanding of the underlying engineering principles. The

focus is on the computer system designed as an element within a computer network, as well as Networking Technology. Study of Computer Engineering

includes study of multifaceted subjects like Data Warehouses, Management Information Systems, Telecommunications and Networking, Web

Technologies, Electronic Commerce, Multimedia, and Global Information Systems. The key strengths of the department are as follows:

VISION

Developing center of excellence to offer broad need based curricula,

innovative teaching and research in the field of Information Science &

Engineering to Produce Competitive, self-disciplined Engineers.

MISSION

To Emerge as a leading Department in the field of Information Science &

Engineering, In the State of Karnataka by Providing quality education 2018.

INFRASTRUCTURE:

The department has seven laboratories with a total area of about 1200Sqm.

Basic laboratories comprise Electronics devices & circuit laboratory,

Integrated Circuit laboratory, and Microprocessor laboratory. Computer

Networks & Java laboratories, DBMS, System Software & Operating System

Lab, Software Testing & File Structures lab, Data Structures and Design and

Analysis of Algorithms laboratories. It has enough systems Pentium-IV with

necessary software like MATLAB, Oracle Software P Spice software to

conduct LD lab. For the final year students, Project Lab with Computing and

Hardware facilities are provided to carry out their Projects in department itself.

Advanced Networking laboratory is equipped with Simulation Software’s for

Research work.


INDUSTRY INTERACTION:

The students are doing project works in reputed organizations like iViZ Techno Solutions Pvt. Ltd, HAL, ISRO, WIPRO, LRDE, DRDO etc. The

department organizes guest lectures’ from Industrial persons on recent trends such that the staff and students get an exposure to industries ideologies.
