Our proposal for a rural public space on the outskirts of the village of Hemstal consists of two horizontal elliptic platforms situated respectively at the upper and lower end of the site foreseen by the municipality for the location of the future infrastructure. Both are embedded in a park-like overall layout of the central, more hilly part of the plot, thus emphasizing continuity with the surrounding landscape and, especially due to the orientation of the upper platform in direction to the parvis of the church, establishing a link with the village development on the opposite side of the street. Both platforms can be used for a multitude of activities, being the children’s playground, serving as a boccia field or hosting the village fete. All existing solitary trees are maintained, completed by some smaller shrubs, protective lines of beech hedges delimiting the gravel laid platforms. The existing topography remains mainly untouched, some gravel paths cross the central wildflower meadow and connect the two platforms.

The hamlet of Hemstal is lacking any gathering place for its inhabitants.
