February 5, 2016 B.E.R.T 4.0 Robotics Team 1 st Place Champions at Nebraska City Competition Core Values Bellevue Elementary Robotics Team has a lot of new members this year. Those who have been on the team have helped us learn to program and build. The entire team has learned about programming with sensors. We have expressed that we are a team by completing multiple tasks together, like the Toxic Waste problem. We have fun at every meeting, and we all enjoy our time with our teammates. Discovery This season all of our team members have learned about different things. Some have learned that things might not work how you want, but you have to power through to get it done. Also, some of us have learned astonishing things about cigarettes as waste, such as 25% of litter on roadways is cigarettes and cigarette filters and 2 billion cigarette filters are being disposed of improperly everyday. Others have learned how to program and build with Legos for the first time. This season our team has been learning new things every meeting, and we hope to continue learning in the competition. Cooperation Over the course of this season, our team completed multiple team building activities. We solved problems as a team such as bringing balloons down a hallway without using our hands. We also built a small structure with marshmallows and spaghetti. In honor of our theme Trash Trek, we completed a task where we had to transport the “Toxic Waste” from one bucket to another, by only using ropes. We have completed multiple tasks as a team this season. This article is part of the Robotics Team display used in their competitions. Stop by the office to see the entire display and their 1 st place trophy.
