As a comprehensive PDF workflow processing system, PJ Analyzer and PJ Optimizer are ideal tools to prepare jobs for printing and facilitate the prepress work of print providers and in-house print room operators.

PJ Analyzer and PJ Optimizer comprise a range of powerful modules for everyday prepress tasks. All modules can be used independently or in combination. Single modules are integrated and workflow chains executed according to strictly specified rules and predefined configurations. The independence of the different modules together with their high performance makes PJ Analyzer and PJ Optimizer the Pre-flight and optimisation solution of choice for every automated prepress production facility.

STREAMLININGEVERYDAY PREPRESS WORK

While a check of the print data would normally take place on the RIP, in a streamlined printing workflow this is too late. PJ Analyzer and PJ Optimizer completely automate the prepress process and check print data before the customer even submits his job to the print shop. This procedure helps speed up the print provider’s workflow, avoids callbacks and eliminates faulty prints. Both parties – the print provider and the customer – can thus save consider-able time and money.

The imposition templates of PJ Analyzer and PJ Optimizer facilitate print job submission for end customers, and on the print provider’s side completely do away with the necessity to enter settings again for each new print job. The colour split functionality ensures the cost-effective production of mixed colour and B/W print jobs, while last-minute job editing enhances the print provider’s flexibility and efficiency.

KEY FEATURES Templates

– PJ Express: From any application, such as Word, Excel,

Photoshop etc., direct printing is possible to PJ Express. Print files can be converted into PDFs by using the driver technology, and files are simply dragged & dropped into the PJ Express application window. The print files are analysed for critical problems that may occur during the printing process so that only “good” PDFs are uploaded to the print provider for further processing.

– Pre-flight: PDF files can be checked for more than 150 details, including embedded fonts, correct gamut, etc. For enhanced transparency, the individual character-istics are grouped into different categories. After the check, further processing of the file can be stopped, continued and the print data transmitted to the workflow.

Colour split*

– Cost-effective separate production: The functionality enables separate printing of the colour pages of a job on a colour printer and automatic combination with the black & white portion during printing of those pages.

Job editing

– Toolbox*: This module optimises the incoming PDF files. Standard optimisation actions such as hairline correction, automatic black overprint, automatic white overprint removal, as well as smoothness and flatness correction can all be performed with the toolbox.

– Colour Mapper*: This module facilitates the managing and unification of different colour names, such as spot colours in PDF files, or Adobe Illustrator colours in an EPS file imported into Quark XPress.

– Colour Manager*: This module provides colour corrections with ICC profiles, offering various correction procedures for text, vector objects, halftones, etc. The functionality also applies to conversions from RGB to CMYK or CMYK to RGB, etc. This colour management module works with Hexachrome, LAB and DeviceLink.

– Fonts to curve*: With this feature, all fonts included in the job can be converted into vector graphics or Typo3 fonts.

– Normalizer: This tool ensures the conversion of Postscript and image data into the PDF format. Images like TIFF or JPEG are directly converted into PDF without requiring any third-party functionality.

Additional PJ Optimizer modules

Transparency flattener Creates flat images of page areas to be used for transparencies.

Barcode Enables the flexible insertion of barcodes.

Impositioning Extends the functionality with automated, template-based imposition.

Personalizer Upgrades the standard functionality with dynamic PDF merging and marking.
