Similar magazines and target audience.

Beats is a R n B magazine designed for teenagers and young adults – to make it stand out for teenagers I have included bright colors and minimal writing in the two page spread, also I have made the layout formal and ordered because in my research in similar products I have found out that r and b magazines layout are ordered to make it easy to read and also they have bright colors to make it stand out to the teenagers as they are more likely to buy something that is brightly colored.

Why my magazine will be successful

• Beats will be successful because in my research there is not many English R and B magazines. So having a magazine that is new people will want to read it and buy it and especially if it is good by having bright colors, which I intend to have, also to furthermore appeal to teenagers I will have competitions, pictures of their favorite artists and there will be a lot of articles to make it value for money, which many teenagers want.

Will it have the conventions of typical music magazines?

• Yes, it will have a ‘house style’ all the way through the magazine to make it consistent.

• The text will be sans serif all the way through the magazine to make it easy to read

• The image will be a medium close up, with the mise-en-scene which is associated with the genre, r and b.

• Finally, the mode of address will be formal to make it easy to read and the layout will be cluttered.
