This puts you in a position to safely comply with all engine manufacturer's publications relating to the running in of new and re-manufactured engines, or when a new or overhauled cylinder has been fitted to your engine during its service life. Manufacturers specify these non-dispersant oils under certain circumstances for good reason, which is why we ensure that we produce the correct ‘break-in’ oils for you to use during this critical phase of your engine's life. These oils are also often specified in vintage engines, for use right through to time between overhaul (TBO).

When an ashless dispersant mineral monograde oil is required, TOTAL has your needs covered. We offer two grades to cover all climatic conditions and engine types. All TOTAL's Aero engine oils are blended from specially selected base oils, ensuring ultimate lead handling ability to help keep your engine’s vital oil galleries clean. The ‘Aero D’ range also includes other additives to help keep your engine even cleaner, especially in more severe operating conditions. TOTAL's ashless dispersant oils are formulated with anti-oxidants to help stabilize the oil in more severe operating conditions, and pour point depressants to help ensure the oil remains fluid when cold.

When you would like that extra protection for your engine, TOTAL has the answer. Our lubricant engineers have developed the ultimate range of ashless dispersant monograde oils for your aircraft. We cover all climatic conditions with these XPD grades, all of which include an antiwear additive that conforms to the requirements of the Lycoming service bulletin. These advanced oils also contain extra corrosion protection as well as eliminating the need to add any further bottles of expensive additive. For the ultimate in monograde protection for your valuable aircraft engine, you cannot go past the TOTAL XPD range of engineered lubricants.

TOTAL lubricants – your total solution

TOTAL offer these oils in two semi-synthetic grades, targeted at covering the full climatic temperature range. These ashless dispersant oils are packed full of additives including the antiwear additives necessary to meet the Lycoming service bulletin requirement. There is a significant dual advantage in using some synthetic and some mineral base oil in an air-cooled aircraft engine lubricant. The synthetic portion of the oil provides greater oxidation resistance at high temperatures, which results in better oil and engine life. The specially selected mineral oil component ensures superb capacity to handle the lead containing combustion by-products.

One of the major advantages of using a multigrade is demonstrated in the faster lubrication of the vital engine parts after start-up, while providing the same great protection of a monograde at normal operating temperatures.
