Piste Wine Bar & Restaurant opened its doors in late September 2010 on Tarporley’s bustling High Street after an extensive refurbishment of a building, the roots of which famously or infamously are set in wine, food and character. Piste is run by brothers-in-law James Hughes and Paul Bebe.

The apres ski feel to the restautant is a unique theme and gives the impression of dining in a chic bar in a French Village - somehting James and Paul wanted to run throughout the venue. Carrying the Alpine theme through to the decor, mountain images adorn the downstairs walls. On the whole, everything has been kept simple and elegantly rustic. Upstairs the mood is contemporary-meets-traditional country house, so walls are given the wow factor with statement wallpaper by Vivienne Westwood and stags’ heads. The interior was designed by James’ sister Lucie, making it very much a family restaurant.

The family connection inspired a dream with a focus on quality, service and value. This is something that we strive towards at Piste and whether it be a glass of house wine, a pint of locally produced ale, a bottle of Bordeaux, homemade breads and olives at the bar or sirloin steak on the bone in our restaurant or any combination of these we aim to provide a relaxed, enjoyable environment with an emphasis on value and quality. The products we sell are all indi-vidually selected and we try to source as locally as we can without compromising on quality. We have found specialist suppliers for our menu from England, Scotland and Wales and our wine list has been handpicked from around the globe. Our team here at Piste is made up of individuals who also have a flair and passion for food, drink and all things hospitality to help you enjoy your experience.

Our range of beers, lagers and cider at Piste offers everything from a pint of local real ale, Belgian craft beers to Swedish fruit ciders.

An eclectic range of spirits and liqueurs are always available at Piste and offer something for everybody; good quality pouring spirits and mixers, an interesting selection of malt whiskeys and cognacs, not to mention our unique cocktail list.

Phil Humphrey is an award winning, self taught landscape painter and mural artist.

Coming from a specialist decorating background he has experience and enthusiasm

for painting on a large scale. Murals of course can vary in size, but his landscape

canvasses have grown larger over time to the point where he now

considers anything over one metre wide to

be a regular work. Murals are painted with

acrylic, which is his preferred medium.

Most landscape commissions are executed

in acrylics as well, but he can work in oils

if clients request it, but there is a longer

drying time. Working from his base in

Cheshire, he travels the country to paint

murals in a variety of properties. To book an
