Pippins’ News Newsletter Number 7 January 2019 Welcome to the seventh edition of our Pippins newsletter! Happy New Year! We hope you all enjoyed the Christmas holidays. In December at Pippins we had fun making our Christmas tree decorations - we hope you all liked the gifts the children brought home! This term we will be making salt paintings, peg dolls, and story shoeboxes — we would be very grateful for any empty shoebox donations. As the weather has turned colder over the last few weeks please can we ask that all children come to Pippins with coats and hats—we like to get the children outside if possible! Our New Toys We have invested in new toys for the children, including Lego, Connect 4, Trivial Pursuit, dinosaur figures, Play Doh, and playground chalk. We were also grateful to receive donations of toys that are in excellent condition from families at Pippins. As you can see, they have been a big hit!

Newsletter Number 7 January 2019

Welcome to the seventh edition of our Pippins newsletter!

Happy New Year! We hope you all enjoyed the Christmas holidays. In December at Pippins we had fun making our Christmas tree decorations - we hope you all liked the

gifts the children brought home! This term we will be making salt paintings, peg dolls,

and story shoeboxes — we would be very grateful for any empty shoebox donations.

As the weather has turned colder over the last few weeks please can we ask that all

children come to Pippins with coats and hats—we like to get the children outside

if possible!

Our New Toys

We have invested in new toys for the children, including Lego, Connect 4, Trivial

Pursuit, dinosaur figures, Play Doh, and playground chalk.

We were also grateful to receive donations of toys that are in excellent condition

from families at Pippins.

As you can see,

they have been a

big hit!

Craft Corner

The children had great fun at Christmas making festive decorations from salt

dough and wood:

The children mixed and shaped their salt dough,

and used cutters to

create their shapes.

Once the dough was baked the children

painted their decorations, ready for

putting on the Christmas tree!

The children decorated wooden blocks

using colourful festive stamps, and then created hanging loops using curling ribbon.

Having Fun with Friends

Late Collection

Please can we remind all parents and carers that Pippins closes at 6pm.

Persistent late collection of your child(ren) may result in your child(ren)’s

place(s) being withdrawn.

Some of our Year 6 children have been demonstrating their IT skills and have

produced a PowerPoint presentation with information all about Pippins. It

includes our menu’s and pricing, along with some reviews of Pippins and the

staff! Here is a taster for you:

After School Activities and Clubs

Were you aware that children are able to join in with after school activities and

clubs held at either school e.g. Rainbows, dance, football, etc, and still attend

Pippins afterwards? If you would like to take advantage of this please speak to

Michelle Brightwell or email [email protected]

‘Pippins is an amazing after

school club for children’

‘Nikita is a kind,

caring and lovely

Play Worker’

‘June.. is very nice

and everyone

loves her’

‘Join Pippins today….

excitement guaranteed!’

Our Menu

Please find below details of our current menu. We work hard to make sure that we

provide healthy food choices while taking into account any specific dietary needs.

Please do be aware that food served in the afternoon sessions is designed to be a

snack and not a replacement for an evening meal.

All foods comply with the Children’s Food Trust and the Out of Schools Alliance.
