It is with pride that I can look back at the many achievements of our students, and the values that have been on display throughout the year have particularly come to the fore as we end the term – Kotahitanga: the pride and passion we show visitors when we welcome them onto our kura; Rangati- ratanga: showing perseverance when tackling a particu- larly tricky problem whether it is in class or a problem between friends; Whanaungatanga: courage in coping with changes; and Manaakitanga: being respectful of our school and its environment— all of these strengthen our character and our ability to make the most of every as- pect of school life. BOT Elections Results of our BOT parent elections will be released before 6pm today and our candidates will be notified directly. I would like to thank those who put their name forward and I look forward to working with the two suc- cessful candidates. Final days, assembly and prizegiving Monday, 11 December is a mufti day. This will allow uniforms to be washed and prepared for final assembly and prizegiving on Tuesday, December 12. Our final assembly will start at 10.45am where Year 7-10 Merit awards will be presented. After assembly is a tabloid sports afternoon so please bring PE gear to school with you so that you can get changed after assembly. Prize- giving will be at 6pm. MUSIC PROGRAMME This year many students learned guitar, violin, cello and voice through the Itinerant Music Programme. Students showcased their progress at the inter-school Performance Day in October. Next year we will welcome a third itinerant teacher, which will enable us to offer an even wider range of instruments such as trumpet, trombone, clarinet, flute and keyboard. We look forward to building a vocal and instrumental group. Lyanne Walker—Music Teacher
