• If “ing” is used as an individual syllable, “y” is placed in front of it. So “ing” changes to “ying”.

• We have learned that when compound finals that begin with “u” are used as individual syllables, “u” changes into “w”. So “uɑng, ueng” change to “wɑng, weng”.
• “uenɡ” can only be an individual syllable.
