INTRODUCTION

ounded in 1992 Pine Park Hotels & Resorts is located at the peaks of

northern areas in Pakistan, at Shogran, Naran and Kaghan Valleys in

district Mansehra, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Pine Park Hotels & Resorts

are the pioneers of establishing resorts and restaurants in Shogran at a

height of around 8000 feet above the sea level. The chattels of more than 2

acres include beautiful lawns, suites, cottages, resorts, restaurants,

conference halls, party halls, roof-top restaurants, café and luxurious rooms.

Pine Park started as a restaurant and hotel industry back in the early 90’s but later, it extended its facilities to resorts and cottages.

It is surrounded with beautiful hills and gigantic mountains – with a unique attractive lawn surrounded by pines all across. It has unique

double bed rooms, reaching up to four beds suites, VIP lounges, Executive cottages, and Presidential suites. It has a beautiful camping

location with bonfire spots and archery yards.

Northern areas of Pakistan has beautiful tourism spots like Siri Payee Meadows

(850 ft.), Makra Peak (11,765 ft.), Saiful Muluk Lake (10,577 ft.), Lake Lulusar

(11,200 ft.), Dudipatsar Lake (12,500 ft.) etc. at the heights of paradise, covered

with peace, beauty and pleasant weather. From many spots one tourists can

please themselves by having a view of 8th highest peak of the world i.e. Nanga

Parbat (26,660 ft.).

PROPERTY ine Park Hotels & Resorts have facilities at three locations in Kaghan

Valley i.e. in Shogran, Kaghan and Naran. In Shogran, it has Hotels,

Restaurants, Camping facilities, large lawns, Conference Halls,

Discussion Rooms, Café, Bonfire, Archery, Multimedia Halls, Parties and

Wedding Halls, Roof-Top Restaurants etc. Kaghan has our cottages, and Naran

has almost all the facilities which are available in Shogran.

Shogran is only 10 km from Kiwai village and 34 km from Balakot. The road

from Islamabad to Kiwai is metaled and measures 212 km. Naran is almost

285 km from Islamabad, whereas Kaghan is almost 250 km from Islamabad. Major portion of the road is metaled and there is machinery

available at several intervals to remove any unforeseen hurdles at shortest possible time to clear roads and ensure least traffic

congestions. Detailed Maps are shown in Index #1.

Pine Park Hotels & Resorts possesses lodgings with two beds and four beds

respectively. Besides this we have Honeymoon suites, VIP rooms, Executive

rooms, Pluto Villa with two rooms, separate lawn and isolated entrance, Valley

Villa, Pine Villa, Luxury Rooms, and Presidential Suites. All rooms are well

equipped with LCDs, Wi-Fi facilities, 24 hours hot water supply, electricity

services, laundry, shoeshine and newspaper facilities. Executive Lounges and VIP

rooms include mini bars as well.

NORTHERN AREAS OF PAKISTAN

orthern Areas of Pakistan, spread over 72,496 sq. km are as

fascinating as its southern region. Gilgit and Kaghan Valleys are

teeming with towering snow-clad peaks with heights varying from

1,000 m to 8,000 meters. The cultural patterns of these regions are as

interesting as its geography. The people with typical costumes, folk dances,

music and sports like polo and buzkashi, provide tourists with unforgettable

experiences.

Out of 14 over 8,000 meters high peaks on earth, 4 occupy an amphitheater at the head of Baltoro glacier in the Karakoram Range in

Northern Pakistan. These are; K-2 or Mount Godwin Austin (8,611 m, world's second highest), Gasherbrum-I (8,068 m), Broad Peak (8,047

m) and Gasherbrum-II (8,035 m). There is yet another peak which is equally great,

Nanga Parbat (8,126 m), located at the western most ends of the Himalayas. In

addition to these mountains, there are 68 peaks over 7,000 m and hundreds

others of over 6,000 meters. The Northern Pakistan has some of the longest

glaciers outside Polar region; Siachen (72 km), Hispar (61 km), Biafo (60 km),

Baltoro (60 km) and Batura (64 km).

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

KAGHAN VALLEY

holiday in the Kaghan Valley, the Himalayan hide-away, north-

east of the Hazara district of Pakistan's North West Frontier

Province, is an unforgettable experience. Its mountains, valleys,

lakes, water-falls, streams and glaciers are still in unbelievable pristine state,

and unspoiled paradise. That is why it can be such a deeply satisfying

experience to spend a few days in Kaghan.

The Valley extends for 155 km rising from an elevation of 2,134 meters to its

highest point, the Babusar Pass, at 4,173 meters. Kaghan is at its best in the summer months (April to October). In April the temperature is

maximum at 11 degree Celsius and the minimum 3 degree Celsius. From the middle of July up to the end of September, the road beyond

Naran, snow-bound throughout the winter, is open right up to Babusar Pass.

The Kaghan Valley is accessible by road from Rawalpindi/Islamabad and Peshawar. You can drive in your own or a rented car, taxi, station-

wagon or bus to Abbottabad which is 122 km from Rawalpindi and 217 km from Peshawar. Abbottabad is a charming town spread out

over several low, refreshingly green hills.

SHOGRAN

Shogran, Kaghan valley is a fascinating touring spot of KPK, Pakistan. Surrounded

by peaks and forests ‘Shogran Valley’ is located at east of the Kunhar River, 34

kilometers from Balakot. While driving to Naran, a visit to Shogran is a highly

recommended side trip. About 12 km from Kiwai a steep road climbs through

dense forest of fir and pine brings you to a plateau of great scenic beauty. Shogran

is the beautiful plateau in the valley, fenced by thick pine forests and with an

altitude of 7747 feet. Summer season in Shogran is very mild and pleasant. Pine

Park Hotels and Resort’s rolling grassy lawns offers breathtaking panoramic views of snow covered mountains of Kaghan Valley’s highest

peaks, such as Makra Peak (3885m), Musa Ka Musalla (4419m) and Malika Parbat (5290m).

How to get there?

Shogran Valley is accessible from the road leads to countries most visited valleys like Naran Kaghan. At distance of 34 Km from Balakot

city, a metaled road facing River Kunhar climbs up to Shogran. Shogran road condition is pretty good and easy drive even for small cars

and vans. A 30 minutes drive from main road brings one to Shogran valley, surrounded by snow clad mountains and thick forests.

Climate

Shogran is opened for visitors majorly in summers, June – August is peak season, during this span weather remains pretty pleasant.

Temperature ranges between a maximum of 20°C and a minimum of 3°C at night. Moon soon receives heavy rains with occasional hail

storm. Unexpected thunder storm and heavy rains keep environment cool and sometimes create difficulties for visitors to move around.

Warm clothes are recommended for nights due to low temperature. Heavy snow

keeps valley covered throughout winter season making it non-visiting spot.

Nightlife

Nightlife in Shogran is not pretty active but fascinating Moon and stars can be seen

on a clear night in relatively peaceful and calm environment which is not available in

urban areas. Camping is another interesting stuff to spend a night in cold nights.

SIRI LAKE

A wonderful excursion from Shogran is a visit to Siri and Paya. A rugged eight kilometer road climbs 2300 feet through thick pine forest to

the top of Paya ridge, a lush green meadow with spectacular view of Makra Peak and Malka Parbat. One can also see varieties of wild

alpine flowers on the rolling grassy slopes of Paya. Visitors can then hike up Makra (Spider) Mountain, which is 12743 feet from see level.

Siri is a small lake on the way to Paya. One can stop here for a while for rest and refreshment. This place also has a small forest rest house

and some tea stalls. Travelers enjoy sipping hot tea from one of the stalls while soaking in the majestic views of snow covered mountains

reflected in the lake.

PAYA MEADOWS

Paya meadows located at a distance of 2 km from Siri Lake. A fascinating place to visit, peaceful and calm environment, and pleasant

weather welcomes visitors. Paya has been a popular retreat since long. Atmosphere in this delightful hideout with its outstanding blend of

pure nature and alpine milieu, thriving wild flower beds unrevealed beauty of snow clad peaks is can’t be revealed.

BALAKOT

rom Abbottabad, you drive 72 km to Balakot, the gateway to the Kaghan Valley. Balakot has the shrines of Syed Ahmed Shaheed

and Ismail Shaheed Brelvi, the South Asia great freedom fighters. For your drive to Kaghan, you switch over at Balakot to a jeep.

Your first stop is 34 km away at Shogran at 2,362 meters above sea level and second at Kaghan, the little village that gives the

valley its name-61 km from Balakot.

NARAN

aran serves as the base for the whole valley. From here you can ride

a jeep or horse or hike in excursions to several picturesque lakes,

valleys and peaks. Lake Saiful Muluk has a touch of the unreal about

it, nestling 3,200 meters high in the shadow of the Malika Parbat (Queen of

the mountains) 5,291 meters high. You can go boating on the lake at Saiful

Muluk. Further up are quaint woodland villages; Battakundi, Burawai, Besal Gittidas and Lalazar.

BABUSAR PASS

he Kaghan Valley is blocked at the end by high mountains but a pass lets the jeep-able road snake over into the Chilas Valley. This is

the 4,173 meters high Babusar Pass which commands the whole Kaghan panorama as well as gives you, on a clear day, glimpses of

the Nanga Parbat (The Naked Mountain) glistening at 8,126 meters.
