Thank you for inquiring about the Pine Crest School SummerPrograms. We realize that choosing the right summer programthat works for both you and more importantly your child(ren)is an important family decision to make. We are extremelyproud to offer a diverse selection of programs from athletics tofine arts that suit almost any camper. Our programs areoffered on a weekly basis to assist families with busy schedulesor allow campers to sample everything we haveto offer.

All of the summer programs and activities are both directedand supervised by many of our own professional adultteachers, coaches, and staff. The easy registration, availableonline, allows our camp families to design their own summercalendar based upon their needs. You can choose from oneweek at a time or a full summer!

Enrollment is limited in many of our programs, so please don’tdelay reserving a space early for your child(ren). If you haveany specific questions after reviewing this brochure, pleasecontact us directly. Campus Facilities

The Pine Crest Summer Programs are located on 20 beautifulacres at the Pine Crest School campus in the heart of BocaRaton, Florida. Our facilities include a professional fine artscomplex which houses our music, visual arts, and dramaprograms. These buildings feature band, orchestra, and chorusrooms, a Pre-Primary music classroom, individual soundproofpractice rooms for rehearsals and private lessons, two large artstudios, and a kiln room. Our state-of-the-art performing artscenter is one of the most acoustically advanced auditoriumsin South Florida. It is a fully functioning performance venuewith a seating capacity of 750. We also feature a LEEDcertified Lower School with all of the latest technologyand educational tools necessary for a positivelearning environment.

In addition, our athletic complex includes a paved six-courttennis complex, an eight-lane 25 meter swimming pool, awood-floored gymnasium, two dance studios, outdoorbasketball courts, and four acres of athletic fields.

For our youngest campers, we provide programsthat are age-appropriate and take place within

classrooms, common areas, andplaygrounds that are specificallydesigned with the smaller

person in mind. Even ourdining facility and ourfurniture is customized

to the smallestcamper.

Camp DatesJune 10 through August 2: All programs are available on a week-to-week basis, based upon availability and age requirements. There are no “half weeks,” shortened weeks, or daily registration options.

Camp HoursCamp begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. You may begin drop off at 9:15 a.m. and pick up as late as 3:30 p.m. Extended Day Care isavailable before and after regular camp hours for an additional fee. All programs operate daily, Monday through Friday. There is no half-dayor daily enrollment option.

RegistrationSummer camp registration is only available online. Once you have created a user account, you may register for any available camp programs.Once you have completed all of the required sections of registration, the payment method will appear for you to finish out the registrationprocess. At that time a confirmation email will also be sent to your address.

DepositsA Non-Refundable deposit (one week of camp) is required for each camper at the time of registration. This will be applied toward the totalcamp tuition. This fee must be paid at the time of registration in order to reserve a space for your camper.

Payment Due DatesAll camp fees are due on or before May 15. If fees are unpaid by this date, Pine Crest Summer Programs reserves the right to cancel the enrollment for all registered weeks, and the deposit will be forfeited. The parent or guardian who signs the camper application holds ALLfinancial responsibility for payment of such fees on or before the assigned due dates. Campers who register after May 15 must pay in full.Campers will not be permitted to attend camp if the family has an outstanding balance or incomplete registration.

Refunds & Attendance PoliciesPine Crest Summer Programs has a NO REFUND POLICY. Days missed during a camp week cannot be made up during another camp week.Weeks missed in June cannot be substituted in July. Refunds are not issued if a child is dismissed due to disciplinary action based on his/herbehavior or misconduct. Only in the case of an extreme medical emergency will this policy be reviewed by Pine Crest School.

Refunds will not be issued in the event that the National Hurricane Center broadcasts a “hurricane/tropical storm warning” for our area. Insuch a case, Pine Crest Summer Programs will cancel its program for the duration of the inclement weather. Refunds or make-up days will notbe issued. We reserve the right to cancel programs or sessions if there is insufficient enrollment.

Post-Registration ChangesA $25.00 administrative fee will automatically be charged to your camp account for any change in registration once camp is in session. Theswitching of weeks and/or programs during camp may only be approved by the Summer Programs Director. All changes are based upon availability and age requirements.

Camp DiningA variety of lunch choices, including a salad bar, deli bar, pasta bar and hot lunch are provided daily by Sage Dining Services. All campers willalso receive a nutritious morning snack and a refreshing afternoon snack each day. The Pine Crest Summer Programs cannot accommodatespecial diets due to allergies, does not operate a Kosher kitchen, and is not a “peanut free” environment. You are welcome to provide yourcampers with their own food; however, it is their responsibility to keep track of it and keep it cool if necessary. All camps have an area indoorswhere backpacks and bags are stored.

Medications and Health OfficeThe camp nurse will dispense all medications from the health office. The medications must be provided in its original container along with a signed permission slip from the parent and doctor. This also includes over-the-counter drugs, cough medicines, etc.Without a completed and signed Medical Form, the camp nurse cannot treat your child(ren).

All 4 year old campers are required by Florida State Law to have an immunization form on file (Formerly the Blue & Yellow forms). Thesecan be obtained from your pediatrician, current school, or from The Palm Beach County Health Department.

InsuranceParents/Guardians are responsible for the payment of all insurance and medical bills.

Our Fine Arts Camp offers small group instruction in art, music, drama, video, dance, and performance skills. Within grade level groups,campers will participate in a fine arts wheel of classes in both the performing and visual arts. All activities are taught byprofessional teachers who hold degrees in varied artistic disciplines. In addition to daily performance opportunities, campers will also work toward the presentation of a full-length musical production. Typically thereare two productions each summer at the end of each four weeks of camp. Past performances include Grease,Schoolhouse Rock, Annie, The Lion King, West Side Story, Aladdin, The Jungle Book, Guys and Dolls, 101 Dalmatians,Mulan, Willy Wonka, Alice in Wonderland and many others.

Fine Arts campers will also enjoy swimming, arcade/game room, outdoor art events, DVD and CD recording, finearts lab, guest artists’ demonstrations and performances, pool parties and more summer fun! This full-day program includes all supplies such as paints, music, scripts, film, and books.

Visual Arts May Include: Ceramics, Set Design, Scenery, Photography, Crafts, Pottery, Etching, Carving, WaxPainting, Computer Art, Weaving, Portraiture, Charcoal Sketching, Collage, Watercolor and Oil Painting.

Performing Arts May Include: Audition Workshops, Modeling, Vocal Solos, Dialogue Development, Sound &Lighting Systems, Character Analysis, Costume Design, Stage Combat, Piano, Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Modern Dance,Audition Skills, Video Recording and Stage Management.

Private Music Lessons: Private lessons are available for piano, voice, strings and band instruments. Lessons maybe scheduled before, during or after camp. Our Sports Camp offers something for every camper whether you’re an accomplished athlete or just getting started. The main team sports covered are basketball, flag football,soccer, hockey, lacrosse, and volleyball. In addition to team sports, campers also enjoy manyfun game activities such as gaga, dodgeball, ratball, four square, races, lord of the ring, and more!

LEAP AHEAD GRADES ENTERING: PK-6JUNE 10 - JULY 19

A limited number of Pre-K spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.Pre-K campers must be 4 years of age before starting camp and have immunization forms on file with the camp nurse.

“More Than Just Play!”Come explore and learn a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Campers will participate in sports such as soccer, t-ball, basketball, and movement. We incorporate in our daily schedule arts and crafts, puppetry, interactive storytelling, treasure hunts, game room and more. Safety and fun are our first priorities through exciting games andage appropriate activities. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided along with hot lunches served in our Pre-Primary-sized dining hall. Limited spaces are available so register early to ensure your place in this fun learningenvironment. All campers must be toilet trained and “Water Safe.”* Campers will be swim tested everyMonday by our lifeguards. KidVenture will enjoy the use of all the facilities throughout the school.

KidVenture Small Group Swimming Lessons: $50 per weekDuring the day all swim sessions are considered “free swim,” and non-instructional. These lessons are offered during the KidVenture swim time. Please see page 10 for details.

*Water Safe: We refer to “Water Safe” as moving independently in the water, survival floating, and water confidence. Please review Page 10 for additional details.

Leap Ahead is a summer academic program available to students entering Pre-K through Sixth Grade. All classes are taught by Florida certified, Pine Crest teachers. Leap Ahead offers review, remediation, preview, and acceleration in a small group or individualized setting. This is a great opportunity for your child to get a jump-start on the curriculum for the upcoming fall term.

Pre-K Program: Language processing, following directions, expressive language, communication skills, visual and auditory discrimination, listening comprehension, story retelling, fine motor skill practice, eye/hand coordination practice, development of socialand emotional skills, and more!

K-5 Program: Reading comprehension, vocabulary, phonics, study skills, math computation and problem solving practice, hands-onalgebra, six-trait writing, grammar and usage, higher order thinking skills practice, and more!

Grade 6 Program: Reading comprehension, SAT vocabulary, study skills, math computation andproblem solving practice, process writing, grammar and usage, higher order thinking skills practice, and more!

Leap Ahead Mornings Only: 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.This session of Leap Ahead focuses on individual instruction as wellas classroom work in all subject areas. A mid-morning snack is provided and classes end at noon. Lunch is not served in the morning only session.

Afternoon Combos: 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.These programs feature the Leap Ahead morning session, lunch, andone of four afternoon options: Sports, Swim, KidVenture or Tennis.

TENNIS CAMP GRADES ENTERING: 1-8JUNE 10 - AUGUST 2

Rising Star Competitive Swim CampPine Crest’s Rising Star Competitive Swim Camp is dedicated to developing the necessary physical and mental techniques needed tobecome a successful and competitive swimmer. Swimmers are instructed in proper stroke technique as well as starts and turns. This program is open to all swimmers who are able to swim at least 25 yards freestyle and have an understanding of the other three strokes(backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly). Each session runs Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The camp day includestwo swim sessions, instructional classroom sessions, games and activities, snacks and lunch.

Rising Star Lessons Swim CampPine Crest’s Rising Star Lessons Swim Camp is dedicated to teaching campers the basics of all four strokes, survival techniques and watersafety. This program is open to all swimmers five years or older. Each session runs weekly from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The camp day

includes two 45-minute swim sessions, games and activities, snacks and lunch.

The Pine Crest Tennis Camp at Boca Raton offers boys and girls entering Grades One through Eight a full-day program of tennis. Directedand taught by our USPTA certified resident tennis pros, this program emphasizes individual attention with an average 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio.

Each morning begins with a chalk talk and stroke demonstration, followed by a run and stretch warm-up period. Campers are then groupedby age and playing level and begin a 90-minute stroke development period that’s divided into (three) 30-minute sessions focusing onground strokes and footwork, volleys and overheads, serve and return of serve. After a short snack break, campers have theirchoice to either cool off in our swimming pool or return to the courts for additional instruction, fungames, or match play.

Then, it’s off to the School dining hall for a hot or cold lunch, cold drinks, and salad bar. Afterlunch, campers relax in the tennis camp game rooms and enjoy various board games, table tennis, bumper pool, foosball, and arcade. Once refreshed, the campers return to the tennis courts for an afternoon tennis session. Other afternoon activities include basketball, soccer, dodge ball, and swimming.

Pine Crest Tennis Camp will provide a great summer experience that your child will always remember. Because of this experience, many of our campers return to our Tennis Camp year after year! Come join us for a fun filled summer and learna game you can play for the rest of your life!

DIGITAL MEDIA CAMP GRADES ENTERING: 4-8JUNE 10 - JULY 5

Week 1: Sight-read 20 songs - Perform different styles of music - Prepare a 45-minute show - Dodgeball and indoor games.

Week 3: You must first attend either, Week 1 or 2, or both weeks. Performances every day! Travel throughout Palm Beach County in ourown bus and roadie van!

Bowling field trip on the last day of camp!

Requirements: At least one year of playing an instrument (with private lessons), preferably two or more.No beginners please.

Instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone Horn, Tuba.

Please no Guitar, Drums, or Piano as these positions have already been filled prior to camp

During this four-week camp, rising fourth through seventh grade campers will explore the art of digital media through several different media outlets. They can create PowerPoint stories that utilize custom animation and sound effects. Campers can also create animated shorts using animation software. Finally, students can create music videos with state-of-the-art HD video cameras and video editing software (Final Cut Pro). All student creations will be placed on Vimeo.

Campers will learn skills such as:

Pre-Production: Storyboarding, Scriptwriting

Production: Camera and Tripod use, Animation, Video, On-Camera Performance, Audio & Sound, Directing

Post-Production: Video editing (Final Cut Pro), Sound effects (Soundtrack), Soundtracks (Soundtrack and Cuegle.com)

Campers may also be involved in special projects throughout this four-week camp:

Example Projects:Campers can work together to design and create possible ideas for a local PineCrest Summer Programs television or web commercial. Campers can also workas the crew for several different Fine Arts Camp productions.

Although this program is available to campers of all skill levels,it is not specifically designed to cater to any one specific level.Beginners and advanced hobbyists alike work at their ownpace to develop and enhance their audio visual knowledge and creativity.

EXTENDED DAY GRADES ENTERING: PK-8JUNE 10 - AUGUST 2

We offer Extended Day to families with children enrolled in any of our Summer Programs. Operating from 7:45 to 9:00 a.m. and from 3:00to 5:30 p.m., Extended Day is designed to be a convenient and helpful service to our parents - and fun for our campers, young and old!

Fees: Our charges are designed to cover the cost of staffing, materials and supplies, and the use of campus facilities and equipment. Thesefees are in addition to camp fees.

Extended Day Mornings - $65 per WeekThis program runs from 7:45 - 9:30 a.m. You may drop off your child any time after 7:45 a.m. A staff member will greet and supervise thechildren in our various recreational rooms. At approximately 9:20 a.m., the campers will be escorted to their assigned camp program.

Extended Day Afternoons - $80 per WeekThis program runs from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m. and begins immediately after summer programs have ended for the day. Campers meet in a designated area for attendance and participate in various activities planned or supervised by our staff. All parents/guardians must sign outtheir children. This program ends promptly at 5:30 p.m.

Extended Day Full Day - $130 per WeekThis program combines both options for a full extended day of camp. It runs from 7:45 - 9:30 a.m. and again from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m. Campersmeet in a designated area for attendance and participate in various activities planned or supervised by our staff. All parents/guardians mustsign out their children. This program ends promptly at 5:30 p.m.

Daily Fees Apply - Mornings - $20 / Afternoons - $25 We ask that parents please be sure to tell the counselor, coach or camp director to send their children to Extended Day when the camp isfinished, and they should also make the Extended Day staff aware that the children are to join the program that day.

A $10 late fee will be assessed for every half hour after 5:30 p.m.

Pick Up: Children may be picked up any time before 5:30 p.m. but must be collected directly from the Extended Day staff. Because staff muststay until all children are met, there is a substantial late charge automatically added toa camper ’s account for pick up after 5:45 p.m.

Activities: Some of the planned activities include arts and crafts, board games,computers, movies, recreational reading, ping pong, arcade games, foosball, airhockey, board games, video games, coloring, gymnasium activities and playground time.

Coordination with Other Camp Programs: Flexibility is a prime objective ofExtended Day. Campers can first go to a swim or music lesson, and then enterthe Extended Day Program for the remainder of the afternoon until pick up.Campers will be escorted to their camp programs in the morning and brought from their respective camps in the afternoons.

Campers may not remain on campus after pick up without supervision.Campers not picked up on time from their daily camp program will betaken to the Extended Day room and charged a daily fee.

CAMP SWIMMING & LESSONS GRADES ENTERING: PK-8JUNE 10 - AUGUST 2

Each summer program that we offer has a designated swimming time during the day’s or week’s activities. This isan “open” swim session and not instruction. We ask that you please pack a swimsuit and towel each day. All programs offered in conjunction with Leap Ahead often swim twice a day so the afternoon campers may also swim.

All campers must be “Water Safe.”* Each Monday our lifeguards require campers to pass a swim test (half lengthof the pool) before they are allowed to swim. If a camper cannot pass the swim test, he or she will be asked to takeswimming lessons or sit out of the pool during swim time. Swim aids such as “floaties” are not allowed.

Pine Crest Swimming Lessons: Our lessons program is available for children ages 2 and up and is open to the public. We invite everyone to be part of a great tradition. Regardless of whether your child has any experience inthe water or is developing their strokes, Pine Crest Swimming has a group for them! Space is limited.

Summer Small Group Lessons ($65 per week): Eight one-week sessions beginning June 10 are open to ages 3**and up. The program consists of one 30-minute lesson per day, Monday through Thursday. You may choose one ofthree convenient class times 8:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., or 3:45 p.m. Campers will be escorted to their camp program atthe conclusion of their morning lesson. Afternoon swimmers will be escorted to their lesson after camp has ended.Campers swimming at 3:45 p.m. must be picked up by their parents at the conclusion of the lesson or they will betaken to Extended Day and charged the daily fee if not already enrolled.

In-Camp Small Group Lessons ($50 per week): One-week sessions are available only to our KidVenture and theKindergarten Fine Arts group campers who are required to pass the “Water Safe” criteria. The program consists of one 30-minute small group lesson during the KidVenture or Kindergarten Fine Arts group’s swim times. The swim coaches will notify the camper’s parents and KidVenture staff when the camper has passed the “Water Safe”criteria.

Private and Semi-Private Lessons: Open to ages 2** and up, this program consists of five 30-minute lessons whichare arranged between the family and an assigned instructor. Please call the Swim Office for more details.

Rainy Day/Make-Up Policy: Substitution days are not permitted for group lessons. Lessons are typically not cancelled due to rain. The Swim Office will cancel a lesson due to heavyrain or lightning and Friday will be used as a make-up day.

* “Water Safe” Criteria:We refer to Water Safe as moving independently in thewater, survival floating, and water confidence. We want to make sure that yourchild is comfortable in the water and with a large pool.

** Age and Ability Guidelines: To enroll in group swim lessons, your child mustbe “Water Safe.”* If your child is not “Water Safe,” we recommend you startyour child in private lessons. We will do our best to advance your child fromprivate lessons to group lessons as quickly as we can. If you are unsure whereto place your child in the swim program, please contact our office to arrangean evaluation.
