INTRO: WHY “exposure” trip?• to experience to grow in awareness of God’s presence, active in the world
• to gain a sense of global and self-awareness, with opportunity to prayerfully reflect together on the realities of poverty, hunger, and systemic injustice
• to deepen faith understandings as we recognize God in our neighbour
• to receive hospitality and grow in humility
• to experience another culture and witness their realities
• to discover what accompaniment and solidarity could look like as a Christian response
• to mutually learn, grow and share with our global partners and offer ways to effectively support local communities
• to create global-minded citizenship while promoting Christian values
On the trip you will:
• Travel to Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu (and possibly Iquitos)
• Possible overnight home stay
• Participate in a mission project
• Learn about the Peruvian history, traditions, culture and context
• Worship and prayer with local Lutheran congregations
•Explore historic El Centro, Inca ruins, and ancient burial grounds
•Visit CLWR supported projects (SEPEC and/or Diaconia), local NGO’s/artisan
groups (micro-industry)

Thurs. Feb. 11 Travel Saskatoon/Regina to Lima, Peru
Fri. Feb. 12 Orientation Change money, getting situated, and Folkloric Show
Sat. Feb. 13 Mission Project Visit Huaca Pucllana & San Juan Camino de Esperanza with (possibly provide a beach trip for the children and families of the congregation (or to work/paint project alongside San Juan members
Sun. Feb. 14 Worship @ San Juan Camino de Esperanza-worship service, provide activity & lunch with children/youth & families

Mon. Feb. 15 NGO Visits Diakonia, SEPEC, El Centro, and Magic Water Park
Tues. Feb. 16 Micro-Industry Achkiy & Sara’s Circle-local artisan groups that empower women in artisan skills and equips them to earn a sustainable living
Wed. Feb. 17 Travel Day Flight to Cusco and rest/adapt to altitude
Thurs. Feb. 18 Cusco City Tour –Koricancha, Saksaywaman and Plaza de Armas and Evening Bible Study at congregation Talitha Kum

Fri. Feb. 19 Machu Picchu Early morning travel by bus to Ollantaytambo/train to Aguas Callientes &
bus up to Machu Picchu site (lost Incan sacred ruins)
Sat. Feb. 20 Travel Day Return to Lima -markets, free time, and possible home stay
Sun. Feb. 21 Worship @San Juan Camino de Esperanza or another congregation… -one group returns to Canada later evening (late check-out)
Mon. Feb. 22 Travel Day -those continuing to Iquitos travel today/Orientation

Tues. Feb. 23 Fiel es Dios Visit women at congregation Fiel es Dios/mission project-painting and repair of walls of church building
Wed. Feb. 24 Culture Day Boat trip down Amazon river, visit to Tribal compound & animal reserve
Thurs. Feb. 25 Fiel es Dios Work Day-finish mission Project/Prayer Service in the evening
Fri. Feb. 26 Travel DayReturn to Lima/connection to Canada
