Pilgrimage or Hajj Visiting Makkah (Mecca), the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad is an important trip for Muslims. At least once in their life time they should make a pilgrimage to the Ka'bah (Cube) in the centre of the Sacred Mosque in Makkah. Muslims believe that Allah told the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his son Ishmael to build the Ka'bah. Ibrahim was a prophet who lived long before Muhammad and who is also revered in the Jewish and Christian faiths. He is believed to be the first person to worship one God.
