Situated halfway between Perth and Broome in Western Australia, the tiny coastal hamlet of Exmouth makes an

ideal base for travellers exploring the magnificent Cape Range National Park and diving in Australia’s only fringing

reef, Ningaloo Reef. With only around 2500 local residents and little more than a handful of supermarkets, cafes, and

seaside village. The town boasts some exquisite golden sand beaches and is located only a few hundred meters from

Day 7: Best Western Hospitality Inn Carnarvon, Carnarvon (Sat, 19 September)

Day Itinerary

We adventure to Coral Bay where we join our coral viewing vessel for a cruise around the Ningaloo Marine Park with

its remarkable reef. Although the Ningaloo Reef is not as well-known as the Great Barrier Reef off the Queensland

coast, it is just as spectacular. See the unique marine life through the crystal-clear waters and feel the white sand

beneath your feet. After cruising we leave the North West Cape and travel to Carnarvon for the night (breakfast &

dinner in hotel / lunch at own expense).

Scenically located at the mouth of the Gascoyne River, the large coastal town of Carnarvon serves as an ideal base

for exploring the world-famous Ningaloo Reef, Mount Augustus, the Kennedy Ranges, and the area’s numerous little

coastal villages. The surrounding landscape is known for its wide stretches of plantations along the riverbanks which

produce a host of delicious tropical fruits. The town itself boasts some quirky attractions, a selection of well-stocked

supermarkets, and great local produce - make sure to try the fabulously fresh seafood at one of the town’s excellent

restaurants. While some visitors are drawn to Carnavon for its impressive culinary scene, others are attracted by the

exquisite beachside hideaways of Quobba Station, Red Bluff and Gnaraloo, which provide some of the state’s best

fishing, surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, swimming and whale-watching.

Overnight: Best Western Hospitality Inn Carnarvon
