Supplier of pipeline maintenance and testing equipment

iNPIPE PRODUCTSTM design and manufacture a unique and comprehensive range of patented and proven intrusive pig signallers in a range of materials and configurations to ensure complete reliability and trouble-free operation with a design life of over 25 years.

Unlike competitors’ bi-directional and unidirectional pig signallers, the iNPIPE PRODUCTSTM signaller is designed to operate through 360⁰. This unique design feature ensures that it is impossible to install in an incorrect orientation; a common problem with uni-directional and bi-directional signallers due to the potential for the flange of boss being offset when welded to the pipeline. An additional design feature of the iNPIPE PRODUCTSTM signaller, to ensure that the flag is always visible, is the ability to rotate the flag indicator through 90⁰. The patented magnetically linked trigger mechanism ensures minimum working parts and no moving seals to provide accurate and repeatable pig actuation by foam pigs, spheres and pigs on pipelines from 2” in diameter.

*Picture shows client supply flanged connection to pipe.

This diagram identifies the standard scope of supply for iNPIPE PRODUCTSTM flanged signaller.

A common issue with weldoflanges is that the height is different from the height stated in the client datasheets. This effects the trigger protrusion on the signallers causing triggering issues and costly delays.

The trigger protrusion is critical for the signaller to operate correctly. This is worked out from the pipeline details and standout height provided by the client and has a ± 2mm tolerance on the trigger protrusion. If the standout dimension is different from the one provided on the client datasheets, there is potential that the signaller will not operate correctly. If the standout is too long, the trigger will not protrude into the pipeline enough to trigger when a scraper goes past and if the standout is too short, the trigger will protrude into the pipeline too much, which could potentially cause damage to passing scrapers and to the signaller itself. An option to prevent any of these issues is for iNPIPE PRODUCTS™ to provide the weldoflange, these can be purchased as an optional extra when ordering a flanged signaller, it will provide the client with peace of mind that the weldoflange is the correct size for the signaller to operate correctly.

iNPIPE PRODUCTSTM standard valve options

Important note: Valve specifications for pig signallers installed on pipelines, launchers and receivers often follow the pipeline specification however this can often lead to over specification and consequent cost for projects. It should be remembered that valves installed on pig signallers are only necessary for the removal of the signaller under pressure. This means that the valve is often infrequently used as maintenance over 25 years could mean a maximum of 25 valve operations; some clients only conduct maintenance once every 10 years or 3 times over 30 years. Specification of trunnion mounted valves can often lead to increased project cost when floating ball valves have proved highly reliable and cost effective.

can now be released/safely bled off taking care to vent away from any

personnel.

Figure 8Commence removing the signaller

through the valve by winding up the Jacking Device using the 2 handles at the top. Continue until lifting sleeve reaches the retaining flange of the

Jacking Device.

Figure 11The signaller unit can now be safely

withdrawn fully from the housing.

Figure 9The signaller trigger unit is now clear of the valve and the valve can now be closed using the handle on the valve

unit.

Figure 12The Jacking Device legs can now be

unbolted and the unit fully removed. Following completion of maintenance,

the signaller can then be replaced by the previous steps in reverse order.

Important Note: Jacking devices are pressure containing devices and can only accommodate 12mm in extra travel. Any additional travel distance will require another Jacking Device. Similarly, Jacking Devices are designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with specific test and operational pressures.
