Feel the thrill of exploring one of the most secluded places in Canada - Sable Island! Expansive sand dunes, wild horses, and the world’s largest grey seal colony await on this once in a lifetime experience!  

Get your camera ready for this amazing and exclusive one-day adventure to Sable Island National Park Reserve, located 300 km offshore of Nova Scotia in the Atlantic Ocean. Landing on the island, we’ll be welcomed by Parks Canada staff for a brief orientation on how to experience the island. In tandem with the renown Zoe Lucas, who has been residing on Sable Island for over 40 years, your photo guide will lead you between the sand dunes to discover wild horses, the world's largest colony of grey seals, unique bird species, and archeological treasures from centuries of habitation, that are revealed by the shifting dunes. 

Your day of exploration will be fueled by a gourmet picnic lunch, provided by renown local chefs working in the vibrant Halifax restaurant industry. Throughout the day our professional photographer, who’ve made multiple trips to Sable, will provide photography instruction and insights as well leading our small group to unique vantage points and to help you best capture this ecological jewel in the North Atlantic!

CONDITIONS: Sometimes the most memorable experiences in life are also the most difficult - and this journey is no different.  

Weather conditions or logistics may prevent our charter flight from taking off. If the tour is cancelled prior to take off, a full refund will be issued. We are guaranteed a 2-day travel window (Saturday and Sunday) by Parks Canada and guests must be available in Halifax during that time. We strongly suggest that you plan to spend at least a full week in Nova Scotia. If our weekend flight couldn’t go ahead as scheduled, there is a remote chance for one last midweek 

flight attempt. To make the most of your time here in Canada’s Ocean Playground consider visiting for a week, and if we make it to Sable Island then that would be icing on the rum cake. 

Participants must be in good physical shape, as the experience includes a full day (8 hours) of hiking in sand. Participants must not have any prior medical conditions that could affect their involvement (ie; heart conditions, breathing difficulties, mobility issues, pregnancy, etc.). If you are on any medications, you must bring at least a week’s worth, in the unlikely event we are unable to leave the island. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know.   EXCLUSIONS:   

● Personal travel insurance ● Gratuities ● Cameras and camera accessories ● Costs related to weather or logistical delays (it’s extremely rare, but has happened where a group 

is stranded on the island due to weather or plane repairs. Cost for room and board charged by Parks Canada is $350.00 per day). 

 PAYMENT & CANCELLATION: 

 These tours are extremely popular and so we operate on a first come, first serve basis. Advance booking is required. Cancellation or date exchanges (if available) must be made 7 days prior to departure at the latest, otherwise full payment is required. If our flight to Sable Island does not take-off from Halifax Stanfield International Airport due to weather or logistical reasons, or Picture Perfect Tours needs to cancel the tour at any point, you will be refunded your ticket 

costs in full. However, any travel and/or accommodation costs incurred by traveling to Halifax, NS for the event will not be covered by Picture Perfect Tours or our partners.

 KEEP IN MIND: 

● The plane has a strict weight limit of 1370 lbs. Sable Aviation will need to weigh everyone and everything before departure.  

● Parks Canada will need a name and phone number for your emergency contact(s). ● Liability waivers for both Picture Perfect Tours and Sable Aviation must be read and signed. ● There is no cell phone reception on Sable Island.  ● To prevent the introduction of new insects or disease, please ensure that your clothes, footwear 

and equipment is clean. Do not bring clothing that has been worn at horse farms or stables without cleaning or, in the case of footwear - disinfecting. 

● Wear appropriate footwear. Sneakers or hiking boots with a coarse mesh quickly fill with sand. ● It is generally much cooler on Sable with cool breezes coming off the ocean. Layering in 

comfortable active wear is the best approach for clothing. ● The UV index on Sable can be high, even on cloudy days. Make sure to bring sunscreen, lip balm 

with an SPF rating, hat and sunglasses.  ● Have a small backpack to carry items and extra clothing.  ● A walking stick can be helpful while hiking.   ● There is potable water on the island. Bring a personal water bottle to help reduce waste. ● We will have snacks, extra beverages and a gourmet picnic lunch to fuel us for the whole day. ● Bring at least a week’s worth or more of any critical, prescription or allergy medications in the 

unlikely event that your visit ends up longer than intended. ● Don't forget your camera (with spare batteries, memory cards or film) and your binoculars. ● If you would like to rent camera gear or a longer lens, contact our friend Jon at East Coast Lens.   ● And last but not least - bring your keen sense of adventure!
