NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL The “heart” of the country, both geographically and spiritually, the Cathedral of Notre-Dame (Our Lady) stands majestic on the Ile de la Cite. After Pope Alexander III laid the foundation stone in 1163, an army of craftsmen toiled for 170 years to realize Bishop Maurice de Sully’s magnificent design. Some 130 metres in length with a high-vaulted nave and double side aisles, it also contains France’s largest organ.

MUSEE DE LOUVRE One of the world’s most impressive museums, the Louvre contains some 35,000 priceless objects. Built as a fortress by King Philippe-Auguste in 1190, Charles V (1364-80) was the first king to make it his home. Revolutionaries opened the collection to the public in 1793.

THE EIFFEL TOWER The Eiffel Tower is an iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. It was named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. Erected in 1889 as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair, it has become both a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognisable structures in the world.

SEINE RIVER CRUISE Taking a tour of Paris by boat is unparalleled as romantic experiences go. The city seems to be fanned out before you as you lazily drift down the Seine River or Paris' miles-long network of canals.

THE LATIN QUARTER Known for its student life, lively atmosphere and bistros, the Latin Quarter is the home to a number of higher education establishments. The area gets its name from the Latin language, which was once widely spoken in and around this area.

THE ARC DE TRIOMPHE It is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. It should not be confused with a smaller arch, the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, which stands west of the Louvre. The Arc de Triomphe (in English: "Triumphal Arch") honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and the Napoleonic Wars.

CENTRE POMPIDOU It houses the Bibliothèque publique d'information, a vast public library, the Musée National d'Art Moderne which is the largest museum for modern art in Europe. It is in the Beaubourg area of the 4th arrondissement of Paris, near Les Halles, rue Montorgueil and the Marais

Montmartre A neighbourhood located at the summit of Paris, is one of the city's most poetry-drenched spots. The narrow, steep, cobblestone-paved streets, stairways, hidden gardens, cemeteries, and vineyards show that Montmartre was, until recently, a village in its own right, tucked away from the city.

!Today you would be visiting few of the bucket lists worthy places in Paris. Post a quick breakfast you would be visiting the Pantheon, a glorious specimen of 18th century neoclassical architecture. Work began to construct this phenomenal monument as early as 1750 under the supervision of Louis the XV. Unfortunately financial constraints delayed the progress and it was completed only in 1789. Since 1789 was an inauspicious year for church openings. Two year hence, this grand structure was transformed into a secular mausoleum that hosts some of the greatest thinkers of France. !The next place on your list is the magnanimous Notre- Dame. This wondrous structure which is an exhibit of gothic architectural mastery is sheer poetry for your eyes. Bishop Maurice De sully was the master behind this master piece. Construction began in the 1163 and finished in the 14th century. You can opt for a free guided tour (English) which lasts for an hour for a complete understanding of the history and the significance of the cathedral. Meeting point is the horse statue located to the right of the facade of Notre-Dame. Look for people with distinctive pink vests. The tour starts every day at 1pm rain or shine. !Last in the list of the gothic architectural poetry is the Opera house. This is going to be your final stop for this afternoon. The grand Boulevards which were laid out in the 17th century, served as a hub for cafes and theatre life during the 18th and the 19th centuries. Perching beside eight consecutive ‘Grand Boulevards’ such as the Madeleine, Capucines, Italien and Montmartre amongst other is the Place de Opera. The grand Boulevards which were laid out in the 17th century, served as a hub for cafes and theatre life during the 18th and the 19th centuries. This majestic structure, yet another gothic beauty has been the inspiration for the all time classic ‘Phantom of the Opera’. !In the evening you would be visiting the beautiful Tuileries Gardens opposite to louvre.. Walk around the beautiful 28 hectare Tulieries gardens which were tastefully re-landscaped by famous gardener André Le Nôtre in 1664 and gave it the French formal garden style. Plenty of beautiful sculptures, ponds, and ornate fountains add a fine charm to this UNESCO recognized world heritage site. !A grand finale to your incredible day is an enchanting cruise in the Siene River (Optional). Cruise down the sparkling blue river and watch the Notre dame and Louvre float by. Sway past the illuminated city at night while you pass through mysteriously lit tunnels under the Place de la Bastille. Enjoy a fine dinner at any of the cafes and dissolves your day’s exhaustion with a good night’s sleep. !Contacts: Ibis Styles Paris Alésia Montparnasse,- +33-01-45414145
