ExxonMobil Indonesia Country Fact Sheet MILESTONE • Marketing offices in Indonesia since 1898. • Exploration activities since 1912 (Standard Oil Company of New Jersey). • Esso and Mobil established a joint venture company in 1933 (PT Stanvac). • PT. Stanvac was sold to PT. Medco Energi in 1995. • Production Sharing Contractor for Pertamina since 1968 (Mobil Oil Indonesia Inc. re-named: ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia Inc. in 2000). • Since 1978, over 4,000 LNG cargoes have been delivered to buyers in Japan and Korea. • Cepu Operatorship under TAC 2000-2005, under Production Sharing Contract since 2005 (Mobil Cepu Ltd.). • Natuna D-Alpha Operatorship under Production Sharing Contract since 1980 (Esso Natuna Ltd.). • During the period of 2006 – 2009, Government of Indonesia awarded four new exploration blocks to ExxonMobil: Surumana and Mandar Blocks, both located in the deep waters of Makassar Strait; Gunting Block in onshore East Java; and Cendrawasih Block located in deepwater offshore Papua. These blocks are valuable additions to ExxonMobil’s extensive portfolio in Indonesia. • Currently in the prospect evaluation stage for three coalbed methane (CBM) blocks. KEY FACTS • Company headquarters are located in Jakarta. • There are approximately 850 employees at ExxonMobil Affiliates in Indonesia. Almost 90 percent are Indonesian, serving in varying capacities including senior managers, engineers, geo-scientists, field operators, accountants, lawyers and administrators. • Total in-country spending has been more than US$19 billion.

trillioncubicfeetwetgaswithabout46trillioncubicfeetofrecoverablehydrocarbongasresource.
Currently,ExxonMobilisengagedintalkswiththeIndonesianGovernmentontermsandconditionsfordevelopmentofNatunaD-Alphaarea.
Surumana Block Interestof80percent,operatorandpartneringwithPetronas
Carigali(20percent). LocatedintheNorthMakassarBasinoffshoreinwater
depthsupto2,200meters. AwardedinSeptember2006. Workprogramincludesa2D-seismicsurveyandthree
explorationwells. Firstoperatortosuccessfullycompleteacquisitionof2D-
seismicdatacovering3,300linekilometers.
Mandar Block Interestof80percent,operatorandpartneringwithPetronas
Carigali(20percent). LocatedoffshoreintheSouthMakassarbasininwater
depthsrangingfromafewmetersnearthecoastlinetomorethan2,000meters(6,000feet).
AwardedinMarch2007. Workprogramincludesa1,752km23D-seismicsurveyand
threeexplorationwells. Successfullycompletedacquisitionof3D-seismicdatathat
coveredanareaof1,725squarekilometers,inFebruary2008.
