Pediatric PittNet Study of the Month The Interacon of Psychotherapy and Plasma Cytokine IL - 6 and Other Plasma Biomarkers in Depressed Adolescents PI: Dr. Manivel Rengasamy Current research suggests that depression is related to several changes in the immune system. While elevated levels of IL-6 have been found in patients with Major Depressive Disorder, more research is needed to see what this means in therapeutic settings. Current research suggests that depression is related to several changes in the immune system. While elevated levels

of IL-6 have been found in patients with Major Depressive Disorder, more research

Objective:

• Ages 13-17

• No psychotic disorders, eating

Participation Includes:

Questionnaires and Interview

Blood draws (1 at each visit)
