Do People Have Direct Access to Physical Therapy Services in Japan? No, they don't. Under Japanese law, a prescription or referral from a physician is needed to see physical therapists. To operate a private clinic where the treatment is labeled as "Physical Therapy" with services rendered by a "Physical Therapist" is also prohibited. Physical Therapy was initiated by the support of WHO members. JPTA became a Public Interest Incorporated Association. Japanese Physical Therapy Association was established and held its first Academic conference. The 13th WCPT congress was held in Japan, the first country to host in Asia. Academic Activities
1. JPTA financially and materially supports Physical Therapyweek which consists of events held around the country.
2. We participate in government activities supporting the health and welfare of the population.
3. To deal with the aging population, JPTA offers workshops on preventive care and works to inform all able and disabled people about how PT can treat your problems.
4. JPTA contributes to health, wellness and fitness internationally.
JPTA contributes about 21.3% of gross membership fee to WCPT.
