Plain
• Definition: A large area of flat land with few trees.
• Example: the great plains in central U. S. A.
Isthmus
• Definition: A narrow strip of land with sea on either side, forming a link between two larger areas of land.
• Isthmus of Panama
Peninsula
• Definition: A piece of land almost surrounded by water or projecting out into a body of water.
• Florida or Italy.
Archipelageo
• Definition: A sea or stretch of water containing many islands.
• The Florida Keys or The Aleutian Islands
Gulf
• Definition: A deep inlet of the sea almost surrounded by land, with a narrow mouth.
• the Mexican gulf
Canyon
• Definition: A deep gorge, typically one with a river flowing through it, as found in North America.
• The Grand Canyon is an example of a canyon.
Strait
• A narrow passage of water connecting two seas or two large areas of water: "the Strait of Gibraltar".
