Grades:

At the conclusion of skill sets, students will earn grades based on the following scale

related to each skill rubric:

4  Advanced  Performs and demonstrates knowledge above and beyond grade level expectations during the unit/activity. Skills are performed at expert level.

3  Proficient  Performs and demonstrates knowledge at a grade level during the unit/activity.

2  Basic  Performs and demonstrates knowledge below grade level expectations (or at grade level with additional assistance) during the unit/activity.

1  Minimal/No Evidence

Not meeting grade level expectations during the unit/activity. Only with help is there any understanding of either simple or complex concepts taught in class or there is incomplete or no evidence of understanding.

Students are expected to take an

active role in their learning. We will

be using the rubric below for

students to see their growth as we

move through skills and concepts:

Corresponding grade  1  2  3  4

Example

I know one thing or nothing. Help!

I’ve got lots of ideas & skills but can’t always put them together

I can link my ideas and put my skills

and strategies into practice. I’ve got

it!

All of those ideas, skills, and strategies are linked and I can

evaluate my performance and put it

a different context

Keywords  define, identify, describe  Analyse, compare, contrast, explain,

sequence, classify

Evaluate, create; Describe & explain &

evaluate

Students will self-identify where they are on the taxonomy during each unit/

concept covered and be expected to provide evidence of which level of the

taxonomy they feel they are at.

Important Expectations:

● Students are expected to check google classroom every other

day for critical announcements and links (front loading videos,

handouts, grading rubrics, etc.)

● Students should be checking grades on infinite campus regularly. Students are allowed “Request to Retest” if they disagree on a grade given or have a desire to show improved learning. The link to this form is: https://goo.gl/forms/3PkEt6HUvJb5VNdi2

● Students will be establishing more specific in-class expectations the first few days of class. Non-marking shoes, athletic bottoms, and a shirt are necessary to keep you safe and to practice good hygiene in class. Please let your Mrs. Rezny know if you need help with apparel.

● Shoes must be clean and dry to be in the gym, or students will be expected to borrow such from the lost and found for the day to participate.

● Participation is required daily, unless a doctor’s medical note states restrictions. Parents. Please contact me if you have any concerns.

Cleaning out our closets? Mrs. Rezny will take gently used t-shirts, athletic shorts, sweatpants, athletic socks, and athletic shoes to give to students in need for class.
