Because even in old age your brain can grow new neurons, adapt and rewire itself. Your brain contains 2 types of matter gray & white. Gray are involved in learning and memory. White contains the neuron fibers that transmit signals through out the brain. After age 30 they begin to shrink, the fitter the body and brain the less shrinkage. This also improve cognitive abilities, memory, and thinking task. Just 20 minutes a day can improve your chances of avoiding diseases of the brain and body.
