“Getting ready to teach”
using Photovoice within
a collaborative action research project
What is ’Photovoice’?
The project used ‘Photovoice’, a methodological tool seldom applied inthe initial teacher education context to empower participants to voiceand critically reflect by thinking deeply about their context, difficultiesand emotions faced, using images to foster critical consciousness andidentities, and co-construct possibilities for change (McIntyre, Youens,and Stevenson, 2019).
