EquipmentFor my photoshoot, I will need a variety of items, such as: Camera/camera phone to take the pictures for my cover, contents page and double page spread.Lights/lighting so the pictures I will take look professional and not dull. White background for double page spread pictures so text fits easily on top of them and location background for pictures taken outside, as to add a different variety of images so the reader doesn’t get board of the plain background. Costumes, props and make up.Costume: The star of my magazine will be dressed is a stereotypical rock outfit, wearing tight black skinny ripped jeans, a large leather jacket, old Dr Marten boots and dark sunglasses. A mock up for the outfit can be seen above. I used a website named ‘polyvore’ to create the outfit because this way, it would be easy to visualise. I created this outfit very stereotypically of the rock genre because this way, it makes it easier for the audience to link back the aspects. If I’d of used soft pinks for the outfit then many members of the audience would be confused, and likely to assume that it was a pop music magazine. Props: I wont be using many props for my magazine cover, because I believe it will take away from the main image of my star. I’ll have a limit to my props, and only use the very minimum such as: Sunglasses, a cigarette and bulky jewellery. Make-up: The makeup for my shoot will be quite heavy e.g dark eyes and lips. I’ll use this as it’s creates a dark and smouldering look for the cover and for the star.

Crew list: The crew for my photoshoot will be very minimal as I don’t want interference from other people. This means that the shoot will involve: me, the star and one other person to hold the light. Cast: The main star of my cover, contents page and double page spread will be a rock music star- the lead singer of a famous rock band that has now broken up. The star will have a young rocker look, and will look very edgy with her short blonde hair and dark makeup. I chose her for this very reason, and, because she is young, then many other young people can relate to her. I will create her careless persona through the language and the gestures she will do in the photos I take, e.g, devil horns and her mouth open, teeth showing as if she was yelling. She links to the genre I have chosen because of the make up and costume, and also represents the changing attitudes to what people should look like when they’re rock artists. Shot types: For my magazine cover I will use distance shots as to capture her whole outfit and stature, while for my double page spread I will use a mid shot of her sitting down, as to have enough space for my text. The contents page will hold a variety of shots, from mid, to close up.

Location: For my shoot I will use a variety of locations, such as one’s in front of a white background (so the text will be visible) and some taken in a dark forest (ideas shown in pictures below). This will show the loneliness that comes with some bands on the road, emulating the dark mood that I will create with my pictures and the stars attitude. Also, pictures taken outside will give the magazine a different mood, as, if I use images taken only inside, then it creates quite a closed off mood from the audience. I will have to take these pictures during the day as to have optimal sunlight and during a hot day, so the forest isn't wet.

Full body shot: used for my cover page.

Medium shot: used for double page spread.

Over the shoulder shot: used for some of the pictures on my contents page, but model will be turning over her own shoulder to face camera.
