Photoshoot 3
The 2nd photo shoot of my main model. These photos are likely to be used
for either the contents page or the DPS. The mise-en-scene of these photos
mainly rely on the clothes the model is wearing and props that are being
used to show what genre the magazine is aiming to achieve (for example the
guitar). The music instruments clearly portray the genre of music the
magazine is as certain types of music will use different instruments to
achieve this. However, there are a few other things, for example setting in
which the photos are being taken and positions the model is in to show what
genre the magazine is. This will engage the target audience as they will
recognise the genre of music the magazine bases around and therefore their
interest will be increased.
However, there were a few problems with parts of the setting. I will be using the clone
stamp tool to change parts of the background if necessary to look more genre-
appropriate for this specific magazine. For example, if a photo of the model sat on a
bench infront of a brick wall is used, I will be using this tool to make it look like it was
just a brick wall behind her, rather than a brick wall with a window on.
The first few photos, where there is a full-body shot of the artist stood by a guitar, are
wide shots. These are likely to be used for the DPS of the magazine, and were mainly
taken to replace the last few photos taken in the first photo shoot of this model
There are then some medium-shots of the model stood holding the guitar, which may
be used on the contents page of the magazine
There are some other wide shots of the model, however this time she is in a different
location, between two rows of trees or leaning against one of these trees. These may be
used on the DPS if the others aren’t used.
There are also some medium-shots of the model sat on a bench with the guitar on her
lap. These may be used for the DPS as well, if I choose to use none of the other
photos. However, as these were taken in the same location as the first few photos (the
model’s back garden) and a window is clearly visible, if I do choose to use these photos
I will need to edit the photos to make it look like she is sat in front of a plain brick wall
None of these photos have
been edited yet however if they
are used on the magazine most
of them will be edited, even if
just a little.
