Makerere university officially started operating as a collegiate system in 2011/2012.

There are 8 colleges and 2 schools.

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

The school of education is under the college of education and external studies.

MARGARET TROWELL SCHOOL OF FINE ART.

Margaret Trowell school of fine art is now under the college of engineering , design, art and technology.

SCHOOL OF LAW

The school of law and school of vetenary medicine are the only schools in the collegiate system.

COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING,DESIGN,ART AND TECHNOLOGY.

COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURAL AND ENVIROMENTAL SCIENCES.

SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES.

The school of social sciences is now under the college of Humanities and social sciences.

COLLEGE OF COMPUTING AND INFORMATION SCIENCES.

SCHOOL OF FOOD TECHNOLOGY,NUTRITION AND BIO-ENGINEERING.

SCHOOL OF FORESTRY,ENVIROMENTAL AND GEOGRAPHICAL SCIENCES.

The school of forestry, environmental and geographical sciences is now under the college of natural sciences.

SCHOOL OF PSYCHOLOGY.

School of Psychology is now under the college of Humanities and social sciences.
