PHOTOGRAPHY EVOLUTION All started when....

Aristotle (IV B.C.): a hole in the wall of a dark room, made the light go in, and it would draw the image in the opposite wall.

PHOTOGRAPHY EVOLUTION Alhac (IX): he was an

Arabian scientist and he explained how the camera obscura worked.

Painters, such as Leonardo Da Vinci (XV) used this method to draw.

BUT…. PHOTOS DID NOT EXIST. There wasn´t a PHYSICAL MEDIUM

S.XIX 1826: Nièpce got the

first long-lasting, fixed and immutable photograph, using chemicals (zinc, tin and lead).

Talbot, Schultz and Daguerre were very important too. They contributed to this evolution using other quemicals (copper, iodine, mercury).

DAGUERROTYPE Daguerre invented this method, and it was used a

lot. Portraits or landscapes were taken.

Too much time of exposition (15/30 minutes)

Heavy equipment

1837: Bayard and Talbot started to take photos on paper.

1861: Maxwell got the first color image.

PHOTOGRAPHY EVOLUTION Eastman:

He popularized the roll film, helping to bring photography to the mainstream. He founded the Eastman Kodak Company.

They also investigated how to create instant photographs, and they got them (1947)

1975: Steve Sasson creates the first digital camera.

1988: JPEG 1990: Photoshop 2002: Digital cameras are sold more than

analogue ones.
